Obamacare Version 1.0 is dead. The 1,000-page monstrosity that emerged in various editions from Congress was done in by widespread national revulsion not just at its expense and intrusiveness but at the mendacity with which it is being sold. You don’t need a Ph.D. to see that the promise to expand coverage and reduce costs is a crude deception, or that cutting $500 billion from Medicare without affecting care is a fiction.
But there is an exit strategy. And a politically clever one, if the Democrats are smart enough to seize it.

The question that needs to be asked is who is writing his teleprompter scripts? Obviously, not him.
Member of White House press corps: “Mr. President, who are the principal authors of the words that scroll on your teleprompter? Obviously, you are too busy to write the words. And you seem unable to perform even the easiest public speaking tasks without the crutches of scripts on the teleprompter. So, who’s scripting you?”

2. Letting insurance companies freely compete across state lines – increases competition and decreases costs.
3. Letting insurance companies allow discounts for healthy living choices (not smoking, etc) – awards people for wellness, healthy lifestyles.
These are three very simple and easy ways to immediately reduce the costs of health care while at the same time offering more choices.
