Blunt will not have an easy time of it against (Where in the World Is) Robin Carnahan, but Missourians should realize that he is diametrically opposed to Barack Obama’s socialist policies and Robin Carnahan’s inevitable parroting of the TOTUS/POTUS’s Marxism.

No, his record isnt perfect, and he has posted here and directly told the district where the GOP went wrong. Then, he went to set things right.

I would challenge people to look into the legislation and the whys.

The orginal intent of the TARP bill was to be modeled after the late 80s S & L bailout program which would clean out toxic assets. It morphed into something else.

Whats more, for those who have forgotten, Roy Blunt and the House GOP was lucky to even get any negotiations and stopped elements like the 20% kick back to ACORN. People forget that?

Im guessing that some how people also forgot who actually wrote the bill. Right?

In the end, this endorsement pleases me not just because of the person or situation, but because it is well deserved.

Big spending, big government=FAIL. Fiscal conservatism=WIN. The GOP needs to wake up and realize the party (and the country) is sick of the federal government *wasting* our money!

As for the good arguments for TARP… um, good arguments? 500 economists said it was a disaster. The only ones advocating for it were liberal economists. It should have been a warning to everyone when Nancy Pelosi and Barney Frank were salivating for it.

Only under extreme duress did they yield, adding some safeguards which Bush in craven fear of his “legacy” failed to avail himself of, opening the door for Obama to abuse TARP to start his socialist revolution with thuggery against the banks who received TARP money and his using it to take over GM and Chrysler.

And the House Republicans have stood unified against Porkulus and the budget bill.

So your attack against House Republicans is totally misplaced as they are the group that that has stood strongest against Obama. Blunt may have chinks in his armor dating to when the Republicans had congressional majorities, but on TARP and subsequently, Blunt and his fellow House Republicans have been our best friends in Washington
