The Democrats have been playing lots of tricks lately to stack the deck in favor of their healthcare plans at townhalls.
Alan Grayson and others waited until the last minute to schedule theirs. Some, like Grayson, then had them in union halls to ensure sympathetic audiences.
But Martin Heinrich may have pulled the best trick yet.
His townhall meeting is advertised as starting at 3:00 p.m on August 22nd. That’s on his website. If you call his office, they’ll tell you the same thing.
But Heinrich also sent out a mail piece in the district. I’m told it went only to registered Democrats.
That mail piece, which you can see here, says the townhall starts at 2:30 p.m.
It looks like Heinrich decided to give the Democrats in his district a head start.

Huh?
profg (Diary) Tuesday, August 18th at 11:15AM EST (link)Why does this say, “which you can see here,” and then point to this same page? Where is the mail piece?
Be respectful, or be banned. No Profanity.
probably operator error

Huh, is right.
Robohobo53 Tuesday, August 18th at 2:35PM EST (link)Points to the same page. That makes no sense.
FWIW, I am from the district and will make sure I get there early.
Bonafides – I am a poster child for the public option = I have too many ‘pre-existing’ conditions to qualify for private insurance. I have been turned down repeatedly by Presbyterian and others. I can only get covered thru my wife’s group policy at work. But both of us, my spouse and I, oppose the public options and the mindless stampede to ‘do something, anything’ to fix a non-existent crisis. The best thing would be to just make sure that those like me can get catastrophic insurance. Otherwise, I am pretty healthy because of the other issues force me to be!

Here it is
Gkyluig Thursday, August 20th at 3:34PM EST (link)I’m signed up for “The Heinrich Headliner” and received the mailer. Yep, he’s trying to sneak his supporters in early, and have scanned the offending section: http://img41.imageshack.us/img41/815/hindlick.jpg
Notice that this was done at taxpayer expense.

Took it all away from me
