Psalm 73 is uplifting, and it is true. This whole thing (all that Obama and Congress have done and are still planning to do), however, is breaking my heart. I look at the faces of older people (like myself) attending town halls, and I see in their eyes a certain level of desperation because nobody will listen. And I suspect their eyes and mine reflect what it must have felt like to be facing a journey inside a crammed boxcar heading for a Nazi death camp. It may be handled here differently, but what we’re really looking at is the premature end of our lives, simply because the people in power do not believe we have value.

Also important to note that although the wicked often prosper, they can never quite find happiness in their ways. Fleeting pleasures and temporary highs may come, but lasting peace and constant joy aren’t found in wealth or worldly power. Historically, the worst tyrants are powerful and wealthy, but also plainly miserable.

God put us here not for the purpose of giving everyone riches and prestige, but so we can have the opportunity to attain the real, lasting happiness that He has attained.

However, I did read an article last week (can’t remember where) about how AR manufacturers are capitalizing on their use as a “hunting” weapon. I believe one S&W model is even now camo dipped to more closely resemble a sporting weapon.

By the way, I know guys who could probably do more damage with a .30 weapon than the black gun. Agreed, it is a very common scary misconception put out there by detractors. That and the “danger” of a bayonet lug. I must have been out of town when the rash of bayoneting incidents occurred.

but they’re not target or sniper rifles by any means, no rifle with a 16″ barrel is. My Mini is consistently in the 3-5 MOA range with a muzzle brake, was bad for fliers before the brake. My point is that the AR-15 more fits the neophyte’s vision of a really lethal weapon where there are far more lethal weapons that look a lot less scary, e.g, any of the “hunting rifles” in more than .30 cal.

Colt 6920 with comp m2 on the handle. Iron sights or comp, the grouping are tight from most distances.

Oh yeah, and the Moss 590 has a pretty tight grouping too

weapon that simply looks scary because it looks like an M-4/M-16 miltary weapon. As I said elsewhere, my Ruger Mini-14 uses the same ammo, the same size magazines, and fires at roughly the same rate; as fast as I can pull the trigger and pay for the ammo. I keep my Mini in its original full wood stocked condition for the simple reason that it isn’t one of the scary black guns that freak out the bed wetters.

There’s lots of less menacing looking guns than an AR-15 that are far, far more lethal. The 5.62/.223 round was basically created to wound in combat and thus consume more of the enemies resources in having to deal with the wounded. It is combat effective because it is an automatic weapon, though it can also be used as a semi-auto, or fire three shot bursts. The AR-15 is a semi-auto version that can only be made into an auto with great skill and difficulty and which is illegal for most of us to own. In semi-auto, they really are just a very high velocity .22. If you really want to kill a bunch of people, or anything else, with a semi-auto, you need a minimum of a .30 caliber weapon with some real knockdown power.

and this is something that many people fail to understand. Every time I bring it up I get accused of bashing the police – - nothing could be farther from the truth as I work with the police every day. Officers on the street know and will admit this, big city brass deterimined to disarm citizens? Not so much.

this is a ruling by the Supreme Court. It was cited by the judge who threw out a suit by the families of the Columbine massacre who sued the police for standing by while 13 innocents were slaughtered by madmen.

If you even think your family needs protecting, you had better do it your self. You have no assurance the police will do so.

most of them can’t hit the broad side of a barn with a bazooka either. There ain’t a lot of real “Dirty Harry” types out there. The world, or at least the more rural and civilized parts of the World, was probably a much better place when we didn’t have standing police forces even in small, poor, rural counties and communities. When you had a pretty much universally armed citizenry, the sheriff could just deputize a posse to help him enforce the law; no standing police force, not police unions, no multi-million dollar retirement schems, no tricked out cruisers and uniforms that make them look like combat infantrymen, etc.

I suppose you do need standing police forces in the degenerate cities full of helpless metrosexuals and women afraid of big scary black things. In the parts of the Country I like, you’d better pray to God that the cops find you before some outraged citizen does and that outraged citizen doesn’t have to warn you about your rights.

just because it is a scary black gun; in my case it is a very tricked Mossberg 500 12 ga. I have a Mini-14 that is every bit as lethal as a legal AR-15 and uses the same ammunition. It, however, has a nice, warm, friendly wooden stock and looks like the innocuous “hunting rifle” the communists say they think is OK. I probably wouldn’t carry it openly right downtown, at least not during the summer tourist season or when the Legislature was in town, though I have seen people carry openly there. I would and have carried it and other weapons including my handguns both openly and concealled pretty much everywhere else around the area. I often have a couple on the rack in my truck, including the ugly black Mossy. There is ALWAYS one or more weapons on the boat. Nobody seems to notice except the Coast Guard always asks if there are weapons on board if they approach your boat.

The assault rifle owner appears to be a person of “color.” Although a strong supporter of the 2nd Amendment, I wish this guy didn’t try to pull a stunt like this.
