His office said he has not decided yet - he is reading the bill and will make his decision based on what he learns and from the sentiments of his constituents.
I voiced my opposition. They also took my name and address.

He may be one to focus on - (202) 225-5701

Waxman has cut a deal with the Blue Dogs to mark the bill up this week and break for recess. This way the Dems can claim a victory heading into recess by getting the bill out of Committee.

I say this thinking of the late night vote the Pe-LIED-see called a couple of weeks ago, remember the one where members where turning up in there PJs.

Anyway my critter Rep. Mark Schauer (D MI-07) (<a href="http://www.redstate.com/moe_lane/2009/07/29/rep-maxine-waters-d-lets-primary-blue-dogs/">he's on Moes list</a>) had this to say or at least his staffer had this to say

1) He has read the bill and understands it.
2) He doen't believe that the floor vote will take place before it has finished its mark up in E&C. But does think that it will be out of E&C to allow floor vote
3) He wants to make SURE that everyone is satisfied that they understand it. Before a vote takes place.
4) He will not decide on his vote until the final version comes out.

I need a cameraman for some of <a href="http://www.redstate.com/moe_lane/2009/07/24/did-you-read-the-health-care-bill-with-handy-primer/">this</a>, and if I can make a request a front page post with links to all posts regarding language in H.R.3200, a kind of catalogue post. in fact any help would be appreciated.

I had hoped to get to the August recess, and let them find out at home just how much people are against this bill. To know these people are actively making the effort to pass this travesty against the American people makes me ill.

What do we do now???

I'm not sure who they are aside from Senator Snowe...but I think Grassly is one of them and I do know he's ready to sign onto a tax on "Cadillac Plans. and I think Judd Gregg is the other. He was on Fox News last night talking about a compromise to get it done.

and I'll be stunned of there isn't RMSPers in the Congressional Caucus that will provide cover for any blue dogs that don't go along!

So...once again, we make progress, the American people express opposition to an Obama agenda item and our RINOs go to work in order to help the one pass his agenda...

Calling your Representative is your right as a citizen.

I live in Bay Area. I call my representatives & senators all the time: Rep. George Miller (the financial architect of this plan), Barbara Boxer, and Dianne Feinstein. It ain't gonna do a darn bit of good. But I do it anyway. I keep it polite & respectful, but I read them the riot act.

I also call the freshman congressman in my parents' home district (I own property in that district, but obv not a registered voter). I enjoy yelling at that guy. He won by about 100 votes in a very purple district. He voted for Porkulus and Cap-n-Trade. I told his receptionist that voting for Healthcare is going to get him a one-way ticket home from DC.

I was skeptical of yesterday's ruse and still am. But this is interesting.

Glenn Nye VA-02 is mine. His staff keeps hedging when asked. I just reinforced that I was a constituent and wanted him to vote no. Husband sent e-mails too.

I agree with you, about the "nightmare." Warner and Webb are marching right along. Webb's offices only has busy signals. Not even going to voice mail, but that is his modus operandi. Haven't got a response in weeks. You know they talk about the left wing taking over the Dem party? They are really all leftists. If none of them will stand up for what is right for America and at least take a stand somewhere in the middle they are just like Obama, Pelosi, Reid, etc.

Yesterday, Dick Morris recommended written letters too. Even more "impact." Will work on that next.

Rep. Adler (D) is still taking comments from constituents according to his office. He has supposedly not yet made up his mind. I hope his office is getting a lot of feedback.

I'm still in the camp that, if they call a vote, it'll blow up in their faces.
(Either way, though I'm betting it loses on the floor...)

Let 'em try it.

I acted quite stupidly today. I actually called my cogressman in D.C., he's Mike Quigley, he replaced Rahm Emmanuel. The phone was answered immediately (after 1 ring) clearly their lines are not on fire. I was nervous and just made my quick point that I am a homeowner in Chicago and that my husband is a small business owner. This bill would add more taxes and regulations to an already tenuous situation. "Thank you very much" and she was probably laughing her a** off at my call. Sorry folks, as a conservative in Chicago, I am the fool. I won't be calling Quigley's office ever again. I embarrassed myself. If you know Quigley, then you know why.
