But, but didn't the one PROMISE "If you like your current plan you will be able to keep it" and "If you like your doctor you will be able to keep him" (not necessarily exact quotes but I know I'm close)?????

Oh yeah, I get it. You won't like your current plan anymore because it won't be able to be modified to keep up with the times. And your doctor? Won't matter whether you like him/her or not when he/she quits the practice of medicine instead of submitting to government micromanagement.

really, you really do not read or research anything. Please head over to Daily Kos they do not read anything either. Now read the 1000+ pages and get back to me when you figure it out, BTW do not do Ctrl+F to find it read the whole thing.

To inform or to push (potentially false) information down our throats? If I want the latter I'll hang around the tax and spend liberals on Daily Kos.

I am seeing now that the Dems are floating a trojan horse saying that they might be willing to take the public-option off the table. This is a trial balloon to see if the GOP will bite. The Dems are desperate for bipartisan political cover in regards to this issue. They know the majority of Americans are against this. The GOP must stand strong on this and insist the only bill that will pass is one they will write with a coalition of Blue Dogs that is conservative friendly (tort reform, no public option, etc.) otherwise no deal. Let the Dems Rahm through their bill with a party line vote this week. Only an insane GOP congressman would vote yea on this legislation. Hold the ground. Don’t blink GOP, don’t blink. Don’t give away a win-win situation that you are in.

You seem to be confused about the purpose of this site.

In any case, the answers to your questions have been spelled out in other diaries. If you really want to know, we're not going to do the legwork for you.

But I'm assuming that you're not likely to be around much longer anyway...

On the way home from work this evening I heard on the radio that the Senate is working on a compromise. You absolutely must get on the phone with Grassley's office and oppose any compromise. You can use one of two talking points.
1. The Constitutional argument, i.e. the Federal government has no authority to create a health care plan.
2. There is no such thing as compromise to a Democrat.
Compromise with a Democrat usually goes like this:
Democrat 1: We need 1/2 mile.
Democrat 2: Well, we'll ask for 1.
Democrat 1: But the GOP will never give us a mile.
Democrat 2. I know, but if we ask for 1, they'll give us 1/2. Works every time!

Compromise for the GOP almost always limiting the Dems to a portion of what they want. It never results in the GOP actually getting something in return.

Take the current health care debate. If the Dems agree to give up the public option and the requirement that everyone be put into a conforming plan, the GOP will consider it a compromise and a win and will help pass the bill.

Next year, the year after, or some time in the future the Dems will come back for what they left on the table the first time.

The GOP should not make any compromise that doesn't expand the free-market.

Call Grassley!
