He has been ok in the past responding to the voters…his staff had no clue how he was going to be voting, but at least they know I am out here listening and that I won’t be silent.

The lady wouldn’t tell me how he was going to vote, claimed that he was undecided. I made sure that she knew that as a constituent, I hoped he didn’t impose a $1150 tax hike on every family during a recession.

Person I spoke to said she didn’t know how the Congreswoman was planning to vote, but would pass the message along. Repubs have a great candidate, Jesse Kelly, already running for her seat. Her record is under severe scrutiny this time around.

My jacka** congresscritter is Tim Walz and he’s in the bag for this thing even though he represents a farm district but he heard from me anyway. (and yes, there are several farmers on my ‘list’ who got the email this morning).

I’ve heard some callers will look up the donors for the particular Congressman through opensecrets.org, and call into the office posing as those concerned supporters.

I of course don’t endorse that tactic in any way.

I just sent an email to Congressman Frank Pallone in NJ 6th District. I doubt to hear anything back of much substance but you never know. I expressed my concern on the financial impact that this would have on middle income single paycheck families like mine in his district.

NJ is expensive enough and a few thousand dollars a year could decide whether I can afford to stay here or not.

Pelosi didnt have the votes until she made a deal with Collin Peterson, head of the agricultural committee. Don’t know much about him other than he represents a farm district in MN. I dont know if we can flip him, but we should make his life a living hell. I wonder what Pelosi gave him.

Update: Before today, the bill ran a little over 1,000 pages. Early this morning, Waxman dropped a 300-page amendment into it. Be sure to ask your Representatives if they plan to read either of these before voting on the bill. (via Mary Katharine Ham)

The PA reps above all plan to vote NO except for these two. The person answering Murphy’s phone actually went on a tangent about how great the legislation is and how much it will lower everyone’s electric bills…. may be a lost cause.

If it hasn’t already been done, I’m thinking of creating a database to keep track Repubs and vulnerable Dems who vote aye on this on possibly a short list of the big ones – perhaps stimulus, captrade, card, healthcare. From there a campaign fund can be set up to help people support the opposing candidates…..

I emailed him last night and called today (his Washington office). The lady said she did not know which way he will vote. Any Tennesseans out there may want to give him a call and try to sway him our way. The lady was polite and took down my name and address.

I tried to contact my rep, Allen Boyd (FL-2), but both his DC and home district voicemail boxes are full (or blocked, I suppose), so one can’t leave a message, and on the zip code verification part of his ‘contact me by e-mail’ site, even though my zip code is in his district, it never goes through, just gives an error message or times out. I guess lots of folks are fired up about this; hope everyone who’s contacting him is on our side, but with so many folks in Tallahassee, the folks in the ‘red’ part of his district have a hard time influencing him.
