"I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male"

“I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male”
Either she’s going down. Or she gets through, but either ways Obama’s reputation will be sullied for nominating this incompetent racist.
Can you imagine the firestorm if that were reversed?
Next93 (Diary) Tuesday, May 26th at 12:26PM EST (link)Just picture any white male in politics today making the reverse of that statement, and the absolute howls that would follow from every corner of the media.

The CA State Supreme court left case pen for discrimination...
DONTREADONME (Diary) Tuesday, May 26th at 1:17PM EST (link)since the state has to recognize already married same sex couples means that the argument can be made that the recognition of couples married before Prop 8 is indeed the recognition of same sex marriage and to apply Prop 8 after the fact is the creation of a law that intends to discriminate. Anyway, I guess we need to have a grandfather clause or what do they call that when you make a law to punish someone who has committed the “crime” prior to enactment? I just suspect that the courts have left the gay coupling open for future entanglements. Just a thought.
Consumer Confidence skyrockets, well I guess it couldn't get...
DONTREADONME (Diary) Tuesday, May 26th at 1:11PM EST (link)worse. What always strikes me as bizarre is that when Bush was President and after Lehman Brothers collapsed consumer confience slumps while returning to that level it means that only good things to come for the U.S. economy. O prez 10% unemployment (wait for it) Bush prez 4.5% unemployment and the economy is the worst since Herbert Hoover? Yes I know I am repeating myself around here, but I need to keep reminding myself that I am not crazy the MSM does spin everything every which way.

Ok, consumer confidence has risen is a good thing, maybe they will get on Obama to stop taking over the private sector, since we are all now so confident in the economy. Wait for it, the commerical real estate sector is teetering. More bailouts to come.

In order to provide health insurance for all, Congress is looking at ways to raise money for the more than 50 million uninsured U.S. residents, including slapping an additional 48-cent tax on a six-pack of beer, according to the Associated Press.

Rubio Announces Support Of Jeb Bush, Jr.
By Eric Kleefeld – May 27, 2009, 9:50AM
Marco Rubio, the conservative Republican Senate candidate who is challenging the establishment-backed moderate Gov. Charlie Crist, just announced the endorsement of a member of the Bush family: Jeb Bush, Jr.
Rubio posted this Tweet: “Proud to announce the endorsement of Jeb Bush Jr. He will be a great asset in our efforts to reach the next generation of GOP leadership.”
Bear in mind that while the Bush family name is now generally garbage in the rest of the country, the relatively more competent Jeb Bush, Sr., still retains popularity in Florida — especially among the conservative GOP base. The question is whether the son’s support will have enough credibility with those same activists who might hearken back to his father’s two terms as governor.
