May he be filled with the peace of the Holy Spirit and the courage to care for and love the gift of young life he has been given. I cannot imagine how hard it must be, but I will uphold him in prayer nonetheless. Can we get his first name for prayer lists?

I don’t know if its a decision I could make (thankfully I will never have to being male), but I respect her choice.

What a gift in the face of the end of her time here on earth.

I pray I am as brave when my time comes.

No greater love can one show than to lay down your life for another.

The really sad part is that no one would question this mother’s motive for saving her child if she had made the same decision after the child was born. Yet when the decision is to save her unborn child, she is second guessed by half the population.

How many of us in today’s world would make such a decision?

We live in a time where it seems many want to stamp God out of existence as a bothersome vexation to our moral standards or inconvenient accoutrement to a life otherwise focused inward.

God knows nothing of politic, only the simple guiding premise upon which he has brought about this world and his children which live in it; continuing life. It therefore follows that “existence” does not always mean we will be the survivor, only that we may or at least hope to survive in some way. That is true existentialism.

Such sacrifice and understanding shows your friend truly knew God’s heart and plan. How blessed all who have known her must be.

That was an incredible story. As a mom of four, I salute her decision. Not to say anything about men in general, but I don’t know what my husband would do by himself. He starts to look really confused if he’s alone with the kids for more than a couple of hours. I’m sure your friends friend will have lots of support and my prayers are with him and the kids.

The Lord’s word to your friend:

Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life

…which promise He has fulfilled unto her both in this world, in the birth of her child, and in the world to come. Amen

I’m forwarding this to First Care, a South Florida center for women facing unwanted pregnancies. Maybe Susan’s sacrifice will serve as a witness to some young woman strugglingto make a decision with incredible consequences.

My God! A truly wonderful story. Currently pregnant, and mom of 2, I can grasp the devotion this woman had for her child. She will not only be rewarded with the Father, but her children and husband will see that baby as her spirit living on. What a wonderful legacy!
We can only hope to be able to do such selfless acts in our lifetimes.

one of America’s friends’, Jack Kemp, have both left this world a better place than when they arrived. I believe that Susan never had to pray to our Mother Mary for guidance in the midst of her health crisis. She knew the answer from within her heart.
May she an Jack stand by each others side , for each may faithfully vouch for the other to St. Peter, as they undoubtably pass through the pearly Gates without hesitation.

As a woman with two children, I can say that I could never, never choose myself over my children so I completely understand her decision. What that woman did was incredibly brave and took strong faith and conviction. Not everyone will understand that kind of dedication.
We could use more women like her here on Earth.

What an amazing legacy of love and faith she left. My prayers are with her family as they cope with her absence. May her love for them provide them with comfort and may God wrap His mighty arms around them all.
