A rep for Collins told us their offices are swamped, both in Maine and in D.C. Collins’ spokesman Kevin Kelley said most are calling to thank Collins for her support.
When calls to the United States Senate are running 10 to 1 against the plan, no freakin’ way Susan Collins is being told thanks.

Watching Collins is a reminder of the devolution of democracy.

Hancock Wednesday, February 11th at 11:04AM EST (link)Obama, Emanuel, and Plouffe are shrewd operators.
Perhaps the Messiah got his blackberry out and sent a message to his entire email list saying call the three Republican traitors and thank them.
The people who are calling could be the entire Obama campaign activist base from throughout the country, in a psywar operation designed to make them feel like people genuinely supported their decision. This in turn would make them more eager to sell out the GOP on other votes this year when socialized medicine, gun control, Fairness Doctrine, and the like come up, because they will remember how much people ‘liked’ it when they sold us out on porkulus.
I dont want to sound conspiracy minded, but there is a possibility Collins staff could be telling the truth, and we are getting outsmarted by the Dems on this one.

Steph C (Diary) Wednesday, February 11th at 11:07AM EST (link)about poltics than they used to do since the advent of the internet as well as face to face. Perhaps, they think they can still get away with lies like that. I don’t believe Maine is as far gone as Collins would have us believe. She may be a RINO but if they were as far gone as to be that liberal they wouldn’t be voting a RINO over a Democrat would they?
I know lots of times I might seem pretty paranoid but mostly it’s just a huge distrust for the government considering what its done in the last 2 decades. Isn’t Collins’ one of those squeaker elections? Kinda makes me wonder if there were some kind of guarantees she has been promised for her support in the rape of the nation.

I wonder how many “gift cards” Obama handed out at the rallies to get people to call the three turncoats and thank them for sending them the pork on a silver platter?
The point cannot be made often enough: Modern liberalism, as embodied in the Obama presidency, is the defender of the status quo. And the status quo is a road to economic ruin. Political forces cannot redistribute the wealth that the economic system does not produce.

People don’t have any beef with the citizens of Maine. But given the huge sucking sound in their wallets this “Spendulus” will invoke, some of their hard earned cash given to these two clowns (to gain a “reliable” Republican vote- ha) and general dissatisfaction- they are done with anything related to Maine. Add to that intense anger at the US Chamber of Commerce and the situation is on the verge of explosion.
Calls supporting the despicable action of these turncoats are prolific? Did he say that with a straight face? So he’s a liar like his boss?

The_Gadfly (Diary) Wednesday, February 11th at 1:24PM EST (link)Two boycotts for the price of one.
Generally I’m not in favor of organized boycotts. I think you should be quite free to let your friends know what crappy service you got from a business so they don’t get shafted as well, but I try to avoid political boycotts. I worked at Domino’s Pizza once upon a time, and hated it when there was a lib in the group who wouldn’t let us buy from them because the founder was pro-life. And I try to be even handed about the whole fairness thing. Of course in this case, I just might make an exception. Now what do I buy that comes from Maine….

To get a better perspective of the political climate here in the Peoples’ Republic of Maine you should look at our 1st District Representative Chellie Pingree! She along with our other Representative, Mike Michaud, more accurately reflect the thinking of the majority here in Maine!
Think this way….Snowe and Collins are centrists in a very far left state!!!
