Obama Staff Encouraging Democrats to Oppose Pelosi

Well, everyone has been saying she’s gotten on her high horse. In Washington, people have been referring to her as President Pelosi.

Obama seemingly has decided to smack her down.

But he probably did not expect Congressman Jim Cooper (D-TN) to admit it on the radio.

Well, I probably shouldn’t tell you this, but I actually got some quiet encouragement from the Obama folks for what I’m doing,” said Cooper, one of about 55 House Democrats to sign a letter criticizing Speaker Nancy Pelosi for suspending normal debate and committee rules on the $819 billion package.

He went on — and on:

“They know its a messy bill and they wanted a clean bill. Now, I got in terrible trouble with our leadership because they don’t care what’s in the bill, they just want it pass and they want it to be unanimous. They don’t mind the partisan fighting cause that’s what they are used to. In fact, they’re really good at it. And they’re a little bit worried about what a post-partisan future might look like. If members actually had to read the bills and figure out whether they are any good or not. We’re just told how to vote. We’re treated like mushrooms most of the time.

Obama never agreed to a co-presidency with Pelosi

This was an issue waiting to happen. I’m not surprised it came sooner rather than later. She has tried to usurp Obama’s power.

I bet Cooper's comments caused her to raise an eyebrow

Oops never mind – after all her facelifts her eyebrows can’t move.

Maybe Tim Kaine should get his eyebrows tightened so that people could look at him without turning away in horror.

I saw this coming before the election

Obama NEVER bucked his party in the Senate, and don’t think experienced political operators like Pelosi and Reid didn’t see it a mile away, too. I’m sure they saw an easy mark in the White House.

Of course, he didn’t see it that way. But then again, he probably began to believe the grand story about himself. Kinda sucks to find out nobody else actually believed it except for enough voters.

Reps don't work for the leadership

DerKrieger (Diary) Tuesday, February 3rd at 10:11PM EST (link)

Parties exist to provide structure but the members do not work for the leadership. They work for their constituents. When will our Reps ever figure this out? My former Rep. Vic Snyder (D-AR) votes with Pelosi more often then my current Rep, John Boozman (R-AR) even though he is from Red state Arkansas.
Snyder doesn’t work for Pelosi and frankly unless he’s worried about some kind of leadership position as a reward for fealty to her highness he ought not care what she thinks. She can’t fire him and his votes don’t count for more or less based on how much he toes the Pelosi line. When will we find politicians with conviction and independence instead of milquetoast saps who seek office for the perks, power, and attention?

“In questions of power, let no more be heard of confidence in man, but bind him down from mischief by the chains of the Constitution.” – Thomas Jefferson

“I cannot undertake to lay my finger on that article of the Constitution which granted a right to Congress of expending, on objects of benevolence, the money of their constituents.” – James Madison

Whenever the legislators endeavor to take away and destroy the property of the people, or to reduce them to slavery under arbitrary power, they put themselves into a state of war with the people, who are thereupon absolved from any further obedience.” — John Locke, 1690

This Makes Sense

Nancy Pelosi with throw anyone under the bus to increase her personal power. With all the pork she and Obey put into the Stimulus Bill, they jeroradized its passage and put 0 in a bad light.

I see that the Democrats have finally decided to educate their titular leader.

If they'd quit acting like mushrooms...

maybe they’d quit being treated a mushrooms. Right now, when Queen Pelosi says jump, they are in the air before they ask how high.

Obama vs. Pelosi: reminds me of "The Ruling Class"

civil truth (Diary) Tuesday, February 3rd at 11:14PM EST (link)

The epic battle runs from 4:54 – 6:10

The greatest evil…is conceived and ordered (moved, seconded, carried, and minuted) in clean, carpeted, warmed, and well-lighted offices, by quiet men with white collars and cut fingernails and smooth-shaven cheeks who do not need to raise their voice. Hence, naturally enough, my symbol for Hell is something like the bureaucracy of a police state or the offices of a thoroughly nasty business concern. -C.S. Lewis
