He does not care if they love him or hate him. He is not concerned about the future of the Republican Party, It is not his responsibility. He is not a generator of conservative ideas, nor is he an embodiment of conservative ideals. He is an entertainer, and a very successful one. The fact he has managed to keep his name in the conversation for so long is his real achievement.

As he explains in the video, his job is to create an emotional charge in the audience that will bring them back. His listeners either want to have their anger at “liberals” affirmed, or to have their resentment toward “conservatives” reinforced by the “cocky” Mr. Limbaugh.

He is an entertainer, like Madonna, or Howard Stern, or Engelbert Humperdinck. His job is attracting a crowd, nothing more and nothing less.

I’ll ask everyone to go read Byron York at National Review Online. He asks Rush about his “want Obama to fail” comment.

At the end of Rush’s comment he quotes Saul Alinsky on how to target the enemy. To paraphrase “isolate and then destroy their credibility”

It is starting in earnest. We cannot let it happen. Rush is a four star conservative general we are his “listening” army.

Does anyone find it a little bit scary that the Dems have the White House, Congress, the Senate, the universities, the media, etc. but they want to destroy talk radio as well.

THIS IS WAR PEOPLE!! They want our unconditional surrender, will we give it to them?

Let’s just be darned sure that the non-listeners don’t find a way, a.k.a. the “Fairness Doctrine” or any other b.s. legislation they can spend OUR money on (and recall that time is money, so don’t be distracted!), to take away OUR voice–OUR Rush. Good thing Rush has half his brain tied behind his back in reserve–the liberidiots would never know what hit ‘em.

Isn’t this clear? The democrats are preparing plan B. I assume there’s some fairly intelligent people working as the brain of the Obama administration, and they are perfectly aware how much worse things can get. They are probably aware that if they take any blame the perception of Obama as immaculate could crash, and then we’d see a call for all hands to the lifeboats as the ship is sinkin’. They need something else.

I like to challenge myself commonly by going to the liberal weblogs. A very common thing they’re preparing is “How can Obama succeed with this negative energy directed at him by the republicans.” The Obama administration has apparently jumped on this as their way out. We’ll see, as things go on, that they’ll try to edge more and more along the line that the big bad conservative voices are cramping their style with anti-hope (like dark matter…just trust me) and negative feelings. I give it to 100 days.

I’m listening to Rush right now, sitting in my office in the SW portion of the great state of Idaho. Just want to shout out to Rush that his is PISSING ME OFF ROYALE–in cap letters. How ’bout an open thread on how pissed he is getting all of us? Love it. This whole first 6 days out of 100, following what, 83 days of b.s. onaugeral build-up, is just like an over-the-top bad-movie showing what happens when thugs get to waltz in for their on-the-job training at our expense. This would be comedy of the year, if it wasn’t such a sad, gut-wrenching, docu-drama…”Right, uh, Greg? Uh, Craig…uh…whatever your name, uh, is?”
More important than the expense, is the DEFENSE (or lack thereof)–as stated in my morning briefing–they are going to get us all killed. They don’t have a way out, and our “angry” needs to morph quickly into more than just voices–quicker than 100 days my friends. C’mon, skip the anger management already!

And my gripe is not only w/Rush but many other conservative commentators, etc. They continue to waste their time by spending almost the full 3 hours telling us what we already know about the seditious, Constitution-hating democrats! I love Rush like a Brother “but” he’s become distracted. The battle right now is to purge the negative element out of the GOP Hierarchy. Those transnationalists that are driving millions of former GOP Voters away from the GOP. Why? Duh! You know we might be able to take back either the House or Senate or both come 2010 and stop this socialist godzilla crashing through our nation.
But Rush loves to have fun bashing democrats. And, apparently, its all about “having fun” as far as Rush is concerned.
