He’s saying “I’m pro-life but I won’t make an issue of it”. You can’t get a majority to secure change on an issue if you don’t make it an issue.

Impatient is wanting to win so bad that you compromise on principle.

Anuzis is a political operative – and we don’t need that in this office at this time, we need somone who can take a stand on principle and argue that stand effectively.

you don’t get to cook your meal and eat it all within the commercial break. You have to take the time to get a majority in order to secure the vote so that you can effect the change you want to see. If you don’t have the patience to go step by step and are only seeking immediate broad sweeping change, then you will be disappointed with politics your whole life.

Anuzis is not obfuscating, he is being realistic and providing a battle plan. Go read his entire blueprint and get back to me. Or don’t and just quit complaining, either way is fine with me.

My point is that he felt the need to immediately obfuscate by saying “hopefully take steps in the short term to reduce abortion” which is the same thing that Obama says.

He’s trying to avoid an argument over social issues, not win one.

here is what proceeded it:

I support that position, and believe it’s a fundamental right guaranteed in our nation’s founding document: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” I believe that life begins at conception and we must be committed to ensure the “right to life” for all Americans – born and unborn.

First you win the argument, then you win the fight, Margaret Thatcher said that. Saul Anuzis understands that to win the argument you can’t just say, we are right and you are wrong. You have to be able to explain why we are right. You have to get people to stick around long enough to listen in order to do that.

Seriously, I am beginning to think that some of you newer posters don’t have the patience required to be effective activists.

How is this any different than what the democratic party says? I don’t see anything in his answers that encourages me to vote.

I recently received a “renew your RNC membership” e-mail that included this line:

“Now, we will work to rebuild our Party, hone our message, while continuing to stand for our core principles of low taxes, personal responsibility, and strong national security, which will help us to achieve victories in elections to come.”

I’ll support the RNC when it’s ready to make supporting life and promoting families core principles.

coasted… I know.. I’ve run for office for the Party and aided others… No attempts to really expand… especially in the Socialist utopia of Wayne County (during your up years you need to PUSH and stretch, not coast…)

A few have stepped up and put money where mouth is and we have a “Store front”… We have some folks around the area with some money and we really need a Republican Club/Center (where peeps can Socialize, have dogs/burgers and fries as well as ginger-ales, etc…) not just a place to pick up literature… The Democratic Club in the county is big, has BINGOs, etc…

If Two B or Not Two B is the Q? then if it is Two Be… I have BINGO!

I have read Saul’s plan, I find it complete, well thought out and also believe that he has the strong grasp of technology that will be a pre-requisite. That said, I am willing to wait and see Ken Blackwell’s outline due in January before committing. Ken is also a strong principled voice and it appears to this point, that he is moving to display a prowess with the technology that quite frankly is lacking on Michael Steele’s site.

I looked at Steele’s site where they announce his plan and post a link. when you click on a link, you get a blank page. Come on people, testing before release is a requisite. I am also very concerned about his ties to the Republican Main Street Project. I do not see that avenue as the sure way to rebuilding the party, we will not bring strength bay attempting to be all things to all people.

Strength comes through clear vision and purposeful actions to communicate that clarity. People do not always have to agree, but they must believe you have a clear vision and commitment to follow you.

I know it is a lot to wish for, but whether or not the leader of the Prty is Saul or Ken, we really need the commitment and work of both of these men to remake this party.
