I'd say he's a disciple of Machiavelli-he represents nobody but himself. He saw the success Clinton had with triangulation (basicly tryimng to appear above politics-instead of spliting the middle like an actual moderate, choosing issues regardless of ideology that he thought would get him noticed. A piranha disguised as a statesman, if you will) and tryed to mirror it. Unfortunately for him A) there was no Perot to muddy the works for him and B) GOP voters actually care about integrity and issues (they disagree about which ones of course), as opposed to the Pelosistas who worship power above all.

News sources are reporting that Caroline Kennedy is interested in taking over the Clinton Senate seat in NY. She stumped along with Maria Shriver for Obama. I guess now that Clinton is Sec. of State, all is well and fine with the Dems. Keep your friends close, but keep your enemies closer! Will we ever rid the country of the Kennedy's and the Clintons. Seems to me that they really have become the movers and shakers of the world.

Aside from the fact they'll be atrocious, of course.

Some think it's likely to be a female pick

"I think it's a virtual certainty Obama would appoint a woman. It's absurd that the Supreme Court has only one woman, and everyone recognizes it," said Thomas Goldstein, a Washington lawyer who practices before the high court.

Three frequently mentioned candidates are Judges Diane Wood, 58, of the U.S. appeals court in Chicago; Sonia Sotomayor, 54, of the U.S. appeals court in New York; and Elena Kagan, 48, dean of Harvard Law School.

Wood knows Obama from her time teaching at the University of Chicago. Sotomayor could be the first Latino named to the high court. Kagan, who served as a domestic policy advisor to President Clinton, has won high marks from conservatives for bringing intellectual diversity to the liberal-dominated law faculty at Harvard.

Among Democrats, Govs. Janet Napolitano, 50, of Arizona and Jennifer M. Granholm, 49, of Michigan also are being talked about for top legal jobs in an Obama administration, either as U.S. attorney general or as future Supreme Court nominee. Both were federal prosecutors and attorneys general for their states before being elected governor.

And as an aside,at least Arizona has one Senetor worthy of the title.
