Nothing like a baby - no one is ever completely ready for the feeling of seeing the little one, hearing a sigh as he or she sleeps in your arms. You will wonder how you could love something or someone so much - & if you're like me, you'll wonder how anyone could be pro-"choice" on convenience abortions.

For 2009 we need to re-introduce conservatism - all-round conservatism, not enclaves of the Socon, Fiscon, Degcon, etc... - to the American people. Building up (further) for information dissemination & calls to action, using new tools, etc... That's all good, however we need to have the base stabilized by reclaiming limted government conservatism & fiscal responsibility.

Happy Thanksgiving Erick & to all my fellow Redstaters!

...no giant balloon animal tragedies

No kidding! Remember the year somebody got confused between Barney and Godzilla? Put the air heater in upside-down? Dozens killed... hundreds burned!

In 2009 help educate its readers more about policy issues that effect overall decisions that are going on. The devil is in the details, and one of the best I have seen is blackhedd post on some of the economics going on.

I like to read all of the content, but I want to know more about how policy creates financial results, both good and bad. Policy, obviously, of any kind has an impact on the pocket book's of Americans, and I am tired of things getting through and in place that we dont know about...

I was smiling as I read your post and thinking back and remembering that some of the best holidays were ones me and my wife shared together alone at home. No travel, no extended family...just peace and quiet.

Congratulations on the little one coming soon.

And while I wish you a happy Thanksgiving, I will take the time to wish all here at Redstate the same.

First: Technology stability. This is table stakes as we all know.

Second: Winning Hearts and Minds. This is a tough one. How do we as conservatives create compelling arguments that can succeed using a 50-state strategy? How do we win California and even Massachusetts? What messages resonate? How do we measure this?

There is RedState, the site and RedState the community. Item one is for the former and 2 and 3 are for the latter.

Get some technical stability to the site (I know that you are working on it--it really isn't too much of a complaint)

That we will move beyond commentary and become activists. Or in terms of our President-elect, Community Organizers.

That we will continue with the efforts of EPU, Hermes and many others to work on deepening all of our understanding of conservatism so that we are better able to communicate conservatism to our families, neighbors, friends and acquaintances.
