Body blows!

Start with the Republican lawyers

warkarma Friday, November 7th at 3:00PM EST (link)

Who are doing this:

http://blogs.thetimes.co.za/thefrockreport/2008/11/07/palin-must-cough-up-the-clothes-say-republican-lawyers/

This isn’t isolated to a few rogue people, IMHO. This is an orchestrated effort to take this woman out.

And – btw – if she really didn’t know that Africa was a continent, or which countries signed NAFTA, that’s pretty damn embarrasing.

I have my own problems with Palin. I don’t really like her. But I also don’t like this internal visceral picking of the bones. The GOP can do better.

I support a Mitt Romney / Tim Pawlenty ticket in 2012.

You are correct. Here in NJ there is a coordinated ‘mission’ happening. To rid our GOP of the RINO’s. We couldn’t get lawn signs or anything.
I am very disappointed by McCain . He had no problem defending Obama and protecting him yet he is silent on these horrible Palin attacks. I swear the NJ GOP is working for the Dems.

The only problem is these people will never admit anything

dskinner11 (Diary) Friday, November 7th at 3:25PM EST (link)

I agree with your sentiment because the attacks are outrageous. The only problem is we will never know who these people are with 100% certainty.

Nichole Wallace is out there praising Palin in a second attempt at CYA (the first was attacking Palin instead of owning the fact that the campaign was the worst run in history).

Of course since the campaign sucked so bad we could just apply a blanket “Leper” label to any top level person in the campaign.

McCain/Palin was the sacrificial lamb, thus public financing and an expendable vp candidate.

finaljeopardy Friday, November 7th at 4:13PM EST (link)

Nicolle Wallace said on MSNBC that all the clothes that were unaccounted for, and there were maybe two suitcases, were in the belly of the plane and remained there. Sarah Palin does not seem to have behaved like a diva, Wallace emphasized this, and I think the story about the lawyers was petty and deliberately offensive. It’s sexist and being led by someone who wants her far from the 2012 running.

LisaDe (Diary) Friday, November 7th at 4:20PM EST (link)

Sarah needs to be kept safe. Obviously she is a threat to Republican party who fear her popularity and that her crowds will wait for her in 2012. Obviously she is a threat to Obama worshippers who will do everything to change 4 or 8 term presidency to much longer terms…just like New York. We need to make sure that she remains safe. I worry so much for her.
This radical left wing agenda that is about to descend on us will most likely keep us silent, now is the time to do all we can for both ourselves and Sarah.

Yes on Palin, no on McCain

Grump642 (Diary) Friday, November 7th at 6:39PM EST (link)

If they had won, it would have been all but imposable to start rebuilding the conservative movement in the Rep party. His victory would have lent credence to those who say we need to move to the middle to win. These are, probably, the same people who are now trashing Gov Palin. Conservatism, backed up by deeds not words, is what will win. For that reason, they will try to destroy her. They will NOT succeed.

Try a little creativity to cut out the McCain part and add in SARAH to go with the Palin. She is a blessing to us, and maybe the only great thing to come out of this election season, along with the GOP grassroots like us finally ready to pay more than lip service to going back to Reagan Conservative roots and principles and DEMAND our party act to rid itself of corruption, laziness, Country Club Re-pubicans and RINOS/CINOS! that Sarah Palin is the future of the GOP? If she is, then the GOP will be a four state party: Utah, Wyoming, Idaho and Alaska. There is no way that this woman will ever be the nominee in 2012 or any subsequent year. If she is, the GOP will be signing on to an additional beat down by Dems, along with the ones they got in 2006 and this year.

Ignorance and stupidity should not be the two words people think of when they think GOP. She will get about 10-25 percent of the vote in each primary battle she faces in 2012 if she decides to run. Romney, maybe Huckabee is your next attempt at regaining the White House, not this idiotic woman.

I called McCain's Phoenix office today...

RichmondG30 Friday, November 7th at 9:19PM EST (link)

Since I could not get a human being on the phone at his DC office. When I spoke to the woman in Phoenix, I told her I was one angry Republican. I told her I was furious about the character assassination campaign that was being conducted against Sarah Palin. I explained that I was a conservative Republican who planned to sit out the election until John McCain picked Sarah Palin. Instead I went door-to-door, made calls, and worked the polls (with my 10-year-old son!) in the rain on election day.

I said that it was not acceptable for Senator McCain to sit back and watch this happen. I demanded that he come out publicly and condemn this BS and put a stop to it immediately.

The woman seemed genuinely shocked at my call. She said she would pass the message on to the Senator.

Am I the only one who called? How ’bout the rest of y’all?

+1 to putting McCain on the Leper List if he stands on the sidelines for this disgrace.

I’m so pissed at the idiots in our party, the Noonan/Brooks/Frum crowd and McCain himself for being such a mediocre Senator and lousy Republican candidate, I am out for blood. The only time I donated to McCain was on 8/29 when he picked Palin. I’ll never vote Dem for dogcatcher much less anything else, but if we don’t get a decent candidate like Palin or Jindal, no soup for them.

I just got McCain-Palin stickers in the mail today, 3+ weeks after I ordered them. I’m going to cut McCain’s name off and put them on our cars. One of the stickers just says SarahCuda.

As for the character assassins, do we know for a fact that the McCain campaign wasn’t behind the depraved Trig rumors in early September? Just sayin’. Funny how the McCainiacs here have melted away, isn’t it?

Yep, I’m angry. At least Rush and Mark are bashing McCain again. The past few months were pretty nauseating.

Government cannot be the solution when government is the problem.

I contacted McCain, FOX CBS NBC and ABC, Jay Lenno, David Letterman, Katie Couric and next one on the list is Entertainment Tonight for that piece of junk they had on there tonight. I was angry before but that spot on Entertainment Tonight jumped up the anger point to 1000%. In case you didn’t see it , they did a segment on some XXX porn Bimbo that was supposed to be a Palin Look alike. It was absolutely disgusting and I am LIVID! The more people that complain the faster this will be resolved.

I pledge to publicly expose and actively oppose all of John McCain’s staffers smearing Sarah Palin…

Please excuse my ignorance here. I think I’ve missed a large part of the story. If I’m not mistaken, the concerns expressed here are a reaction to a Newsweek story citing “anonymous sources” right? Instead of asking who these people are and whether anything they said is true, I’m inclined to first ask whether these people really exist and is anything that Newsweek says true. No????

It wouldn’t be the first time we saw a completely fictional piece designed to hurt some republican.

Here is my issue with Operation Leper.

Chris Farris (Diary) Saturday, November 8th at 10:40AM EST (link)

Sarah Palin may in fact be the north slope valley girl that the media and elite right make her out to be. Or she could be an intelligent woman, who might not have had experience in certain national issues, and was totally miss-handled by the incompetent f—tards that came from the Bush Administration. It was the Bush Administration that managed to destroy this party and turn control of the government over to radical leftists and socialists.

Point is, we don’t know the real Sarah Palin. That is why I’m hoping she does come to Georgia to campaign for Saxby. Freed from the moronic ex-Bush staff, she will be more herself. Then we can judge.

If Erick were serious about cleaning up the GOP, he’d make any and everyone who every worked for George W. Bush in an appointed or political capacity a leper. Cheney, Rove, Ashcroft, Ridge, Meiers, Gates, Rice, Rumsfeld, etc. While there probably were a few good apples in the barrel of elephant dung, the loss of them is greatly over weighted by making sure the real lepers never again hold political power.

All of them need to be taken out and politically shot. Their political and government careers need to be over. In fact, the best thing President Obama can do for the GOP is to begin indicting these cretins, making it impossible for them ever to work in Government again.

Well . . .

If President Al Gore had started the war, it would have been the humanitarian gesture of the new century, right?

Who cares if the RNC bought her clothes? She was going to take a hit not matter she did. Would the haters be happier if she would have worn her parka and snow boots? Sheesh.

The woman needed clothes that were in line with her new position: the potential Vice President of the United States.

Did anyone complain about Hillary’s custom made pant suits? No, they just made fun of them, but not the cost of them.

Did the DNC buy Obama designer suits? Who has said squat about his clothes? No one. And who cares anyway.

This topic is getting weary. How about worrying about what a new Obama Presidency is going to do to our country on so many levels.

I wonder if in the longterm, (5-10 years from now) we'll say we won by losing?

nogyro35 (Diary) Saturday, November 8th at 11:18AM EST (link)

I am not saying I wanted Obama to teach this country a lesson, but as Grump is saying most of us wanted Sarah to win. Not necessarily McCain.

streiff (Diary) Saturday, November 8th at 11:21AM EST (link)

simply counterfactual.

First, there is no doubt that the surge worked. The surge worked because of how they were used, not because they were there. The first surge brigades didn’t arrive in Iraq until May/June 2007. The turnaround was widely reported on before the surge troops arrived.

Second, the Anbar Awakening movement started around March 2006. Eight months before the elections and nine before the surge was announced. The turnaround was going to happen. Our choice was to lead it or follow it.

It is pretty convenient to pretend that there are simple answers. Unfortunately, there really aren’t. Blaming Rumsfeld is just lazy.

Get rid of the RINO’s. However, despite all the bashing Bush has taken during the election, he has remained quiet. During the financial mess, he remained quiet. He could have easily pointed out that the problems have been brewing for the past 20 years, but he remained quiet. Mr. Bush is a great man and history will prove that.

Yeah, I am a Cheney fan too. Also, Lynn has been a great inspiration to me.

Absolutely right

drmonroe Saturday, November 8th at 11:38AM EST (link)

Bush is what killed us. On some issues he was our best friend (think taxes) but in other areas he was a die-hard liberal. Nation-building is Wilsonian, his plan for amnesty would have spelt the complete death of the Republican party and a massive transformation of our country, his spending was out of control and the massive deficits he has helped to run up certainly aren’t going to help us now. Also the bailout. That was a great idea, glad it worked so well for us.

All put together if a Democrat had carried on some of his policies we would’ve been howling about it and the Dems would be loving him. I think sometimes we need to take of our partisan-blinders and not support a guy just because he has an R next to his name. Instead we should support conservatives who champion conservative causes.

No, we won't

Not that Obama will be good, but that this might be the catalyst we needed to stop picking barely conservative and losing leadership.

5-10 years from now, if a Reagan or better has emerged, the next 4 years might seem more palatable.

While I never was a fan of Sen McCain, politically, I shudder to think about what will happen next. Obomas people will come out swinging, in a no holds barred fight to get their socialist agenda into law from the very start. Meanwhile, Oboma will be talking “unity” and “we have to stand together”. The MSM will fawn and say “What a great unifier he is.” We will be portrayed as un-american for trying to stop his socialist plans. It will get ugly. But I truly believe that if we do not, the Carter years could be “The good old days.” So I say “Get in, sit down, and hang on! It’s going to be one helluva ride!”
