Crazy supporters do crazy things on both sides of the aisle, not that I need to remind you. I would have thought you’d be focusing on more important thing than a run of spray-paint vandalism 1 week before the general election.

Two weeks ago, when I was in Frankfurt getting ready to board a flight to Washington, I noticed that some guy a few people ahead of me in the line to get through the security check and into the gate area was wearing a black t-shirt that said in bright lettering on the back:

“CHRISTIANS TO THE LIONS!!”

He was in his 50s at least – plenty old enough to know better. And since he was traveling internationally, I have to assume that his socio-economic level was above that of the usual street trash.

There really ARE people out there who are just itching to persecute – and they say so.

It’s hardly new, of course, but I got forwarded (twice!) a Wonkette item calling Palin supporters at a Las Vegas event racists (complete with pic of hooded KKK members from the first part of the last century–all class, those folks at Wonkette) for, I guess, not supporting Obama? I couldn’t be bothered to watch the whole video, as I am allergic to smarmy smugness.

We had better learn what has been done to create people like this. And we need to put a stop to it and to stop making excuses. Liberty does not mean justifying extremism like this.

This is what happens when we excuse evil as “civil rights”. We should not be suprised where we have ended up. Liberty does not mean the right to destroy our culture and our constitution in the name of “freedom”. Will this election finally wake us up?

Just up the road from me a McCain supporter has had his signs torn down 4 times. One with the American flag attached to it. He is a VN veteran and also owns a sign company so, he just keeps putting them back up with a message. This is in Lakeville, an upperclass suburb. The police are called, pictures taken but, they can’t catch the perps that keep doing this.

I’ll be voting McCain as will most of my family. I have a brother in law that is a self loathing white liberal and we had heated words this past week and he said “Obama is a better Christian than you”, my wife was beyond angry. I have been an ordained Minister. Needless to say, we won’t be visiting them again, as he said I was not welcome in his house.

Sad.

if Obama fans are experiencing the same vandalism from McCain supporters? I haven’t seen it locally. But I’m tired of replacing all my GOP signs and washing off sidewalk chalk.

The radicals,joined by disappointed minorities may really be a problem after McCain wins in an “upset”.

I spent the weekend with another nurse friend of mine who is visiting Las Vegas. She’s one of the smartest women I know, a liberal and a lifelong democrat. And was an ardent Hillary supporter.

She told me last night that although she is not, in her words a “Bible thumper”, the zealousness of the Obama disciples is scaring her. She noted that seeing him enter from a “temple” at the DNC, literally gave her the creeps. She comes from NC, where religion has deep roots and she said that this adoration of Obama frightens her more than anything she’s seen in politics before.

She said she won’t be casting a vote for anyone on election day.

Third world despots kidnap and murder the families of those who oppose them. Grafitti is what kids do. Obviously, YOU have never been in an inner city neighborhood or taken a subway ride in any American city. And as far as private records are concerned, Todd Palin had “three stacks of personnel files” on his desk when he met with Walter Monegan.

“On Jan. 4, 2007, a month into the Palin administration and his tenure as public safety commissioner, Mr. Monegan was called to the governor’s Anchorage office to meet Todd Palin. Mr. Palin was seated at a conference table with three stacks of personnel files. That, Mr. Monegan recalled, was the first time he heard the name Mike Wooten.”

You need to come down from your ivory tower or get out of your glass house and travel beyond your white-bread suburban gated community and see what life is like in urban America. If you can believe that grafitti is comparable to what goes on in third world countries, you’ve lead a seriously sheltered and uniformed life.

We are seeing some of the lighter sides of deeds needed for the resume’ to become part of the new “Civilian Defense Security Force”.

Every high school and junior high school in America has been toilet papered or been the canvas of a grafitti artist or had rocks thrown through windows by students from competing schools. Subways, bridges, els, buses, billboards and buildings have been defaced with grafitti from New York to San Francisco throuhout my lifetime. I still remember in the 50s and 60s when there were members of the KKK standing outside of polling places and taunting black people standing in line to vote. So don’t get all righteous about America’s “long history of political tolerance and civility”. Perhaps that was your experience in your neighborhood, but it was not the experience of millions of Americans in the neighborhoods of my generation.

This is actually my neighborhood in Virginia. Thanks to these bozos, my child learned a new word. The local news reports really downplayed this. They first showed a neighborhood in Maryland where someone had placed the letter S over the B in Obama and interviewed several people in that neighborhood. Meanwhile, we were dealing with extensive destruction of property, voter intimidation and hate crimes. We barely got any coverage, check the Washington Compost story. After this was done, one neighbor put out 8 Mc Cain signs on his lawn.

Other than the “satanist” comments left on the garage door visible behind a well-positioned camera showing a McCain/Palin lawn sign, what proof exists that the vandals had anything to do with the Obama campaign or Obama supporters in general? Was this done to every home in the area sporting a McCain/Palin lawn sign? The neighborhood looks pretty tony to me, and I suspect that one would not have any trouble finding McCain/Palin lawn signs and therefore other vandalism. This smells of faux outrage by losers.
