There is now ample, ample evidence that Barack Obama’s campaign is accepting donations from foreigners in violation of federal law.
There is now ample evidence that Barack Obama’s campaign has intentionally opted out of credit card address verification services (“AVS”) thereby making it extremely easy to contribute to his campaign while the campaign can claim ignorance to theft, excessive contributions, improper contributions, and illegal contributions.
See, here, here, here, here, and here.
As Patrick Ruffini notes,
The issue centers around the Address Verification Service (or AVS) that credit card processors use to sniff out phony transactions. I was able to contribute money using an address other than the one on file with my bank account (I used an address I control, just not the one on my account), showing that the Obama campaign deliberately disabled AVS for its online donors.
AVS is generally the first line of defense against credit card fraud online. AVS ensures that not only is your credit card number accurate, but the street address you’ve submitted with a transaction matches the one on file with your bank.
Authorize.net, the largest credit card gateway provider in the country, lists AVS as a “Standard Transaction Security Setting,” recommends merchants use it, and turns it on by default. So, in order for AVS to be turned off, it has to be intentional, at least with Authorize.net.
There have been ample stories since the first reports of questionable donations, but the campaign still has not turned on AVS.
To be clear: this cannot be done with John McCain’s website. This could not be done with Hillary Clinton’s website. This could not be done with Fred Thompson’s website. This could not be done with Joe Biden’s website. This could not be done with any other candidate’s website. Only Barack Obama’s website is set up to allow transactions without any screening for fraud or other inappropriate or illegal activity.
The media has patently, willfully failed to report this story.
There is nothing you or I can do to force the media to cover this story. Nothing.
But let us not be under any delusions. Were this George W. Bush in 2000 or 2004 when he saw record fundraising numbers from low dollar donors, the media would have been all over his campaign if AVS had been turned off.
The watch word for the media right now? Crickets.

Co wonder OBama was smirking at McCain
hunter (Diary) Friday, October 24th at 6:04AM EST (link)He was following the traditional democrat scam of voter fraud.
Instead we should have been paying attention to the party whose members committed the greatest financial larceny in American history the destruction of FNMA. How did they get the credit card companies to do this?
The people who destroyed FNMA and profiting from it were being even more creative.
Sneaking around the credit card registration format that every legitimate enterprise on the internet uses is contemptible for a group that holds itself out as legitimate and cutting edge.
There is no way Obama did not know better.
And if he didn’t, then he is not fit to lead.
He has turned his campaign into the equivalent of an internet money pyramid, with him on top.
He will do the same to this nation and the world’s economy.

Sad state...
jenest2001 Friday, October 24th at 6:39AM EST (link)Integrity and honesty seem to be alien to BO. The snow job he has done on the American people and media has been incredible.
He has been groomed for this moment by the cast of characters he has claimed to be disassociated with.
Unfortunately, the fine example of corruption, arrogance, suggestion of violence and unbelievable race baiting he sets is indicative of the administration he would bring to DC. Unfortunately, he and congress will have carte blanche to change the constitution to their own desires. Can you imagine what Washington, Jefferson and Franklin would be thinking right now?
The fact is the media is in his pocket, and will do anything to help him get elected, much to their own demise.
So…when the majority of the “talented” and “influential” media is out in the bread lines in 6-9 months with the rest of us when their jobs are trimmed due to the severe economic “downturn”, do you think that would be the point where they see the “light” and start to point out the failures, lies and corruption that he will bring to an administration?
It most likely will be too late.
If he is elected, be prepared for 10 years of an American life you won’t believe you are living through.
WE just may, for the first time

The world markets are reacting accordingly.
The credit card scam is just the tip of the iceberg.
The interesting question is this:
If Obama had actually kept his word, and run a non-corrupt money raising organization and accepted federal matching money, how far down would he be?
He and his team know in their bones they cannot win an even race.
They need the press in their pocket, unlimited money, ACORN and fraud- just to get slightly ahead or stay even.
Think about this.
The Obamatization of America is not coming in like a Regan groundswell. It is linking in by fraud, corruption, ballot box stuffing and more.
This realization drives them to even more anger at us.
It drives them to consider even dumber policies and more dramatic structural changes to America to make sure they never have to work so hard in an election again.
Vote McCain.

The point cannot be made often enough: Modern liberalism, as embodied in the Obama presidency, is the defender of the status quo. And the status quo is a road to economic ruin. Political forces cannot redistribute the wealth that the economic system does not produce.

It has become eminently clear that the socialists see this as a win-win. If Obama wins, they get someone who will enact their agenda. If he loses, they will have created such a KnownFact that he HAD to be elected unless the GOP cheated that we’ll have people rioting and burning down cities, and a Democratic Congress that fights McCain 10x worse than they have fought Bush.
Either way, the America we knew gets weakened significantly, so the socialists view that as a positive whichever way it turns out. It makes me sick.

Sarah Palin and the Media Joke
justlistening Friday, October 24th at 9:13AM EST (link)Red Staters,
I’m actually not one of you, but I think you will enjoy this joke. Also, I’d like to suggest in contradiction to what I’ve seen here that no matter who wins the election, the country will muddle through somehow. I’ve been through a lot of elections where someone says, “If the other guy wins then the country is lost forever”. But so far it has hasn’t happened. – just listening
The Pope is visiting DC, and Palin takes him out for an afternoon on the Potomac. They’re admiring the sights when, all of a sudden, the Pope’s hat blows off his head and out into the water. Secret service guys start to launch a boat, but Palin waves them off, saying ‘Wait, wait. I’ll take care of this. Don’t worry.’
Palin steps onto the surface of the water and walks out to the Holy Father’s little hat, bends over and picks it up, then walks back. She hands the hat to the Pope amid stunned silence.
The next morning, the Washington Post, NY TImes, ABC News, CBS News, NBC News, and CNN carry a story, complete with photos of the event. The banner headline reads: ‘Palin Can’t Swim!’
Not Good Ad Idea
Doctor Biobrain Friday, October 24th at 11:13AM EST (link)Honestly, I really think that such an ad would be a waste of money. There just isn’t enough time in an ad to explain the importance of AVS, so nobody would get it and it’d just seem like a very weird negative attack. At best, you’d get a “Huh?” reaction from folks, and because negative ads always leave traces of negativity on the person running the ad, they should only be used if the attack will stick firmly. In this case, I don’t think it would. Remember, for most businesses, AVS is designed to protect the business from fraud. So this ad would need to explain how Obama is committing the scam.
For a TV ad to work, it has to be something that resonates well with voter needs and can be understood by someone who isn’t paying full attention. That’s why I don’t think the Ayers stuff works well either, because the intial charge sounds too outrageous and by the time it’s explained that Obama has associations with someone who committed terrorist acts several decades ago, you’ve already lost them. That’s one of the problems with politics: Not all of your opponent’s flaws work well in political ads.
Nah, you could do it.
Moe Lane (Diary) Friday, October 24th at 11:24AM EST (link)Voiceover: “Are your credit card bills too high?”
“Well, maybe it’s because some of your money might be going to Barack Obama. People all over the country are finding out that their credit card information’s been stolen to pay for phony donations to Obama. They pay it out… and the Obama campaign rakes it in. Oh, they’ll give the money back – if you ask for it.”
“So go check your statements. You might be an Obama supporter, and just never knew it.”

Probably Not Credit Card Theft
Doctor Biobrain Friday, October 24th at 12:30PM EST (link)Moe, it doesn’t work like that and if this happened, Obama’s campaign would be totally screwed. One of my clients is an internet company that receives most of their payments by credit card and it’s EXTREMELY easy for customers to get their money back.
The whole thing with credit cards is that once a complaint is filed, the business is presumed guilty until it can prove innocence. That’s because the card companies work for the customers, not the businesses. And before we’re even told that a dispute was filed, they take the money out of the bank account and we have a very short time to even dispute it (if you don’t dispute it timely, you lose the right to dispute it ever). And even if we can prove that the transaction was legit (which isn’t easy, as there is no signature or card swiping over the internet), we still end up paying a fee for each chargeback. And if your merchant services provider sees too many fraudulent transactions, they’ll just cut-off your account and hold your funds.
And all this would be a HUGE nightmare for Obama. Not only would they lose all the money, but they’d pay a fortune in fees. Plus, it’s all provable and if it happened on a wide enough scale, people would certainly go to jail. So long story short, credit card theft isn’t the issue here. If anything, this is something Obama’s enemies would do to him, not his allies.
It was my understanding that the problem here would be people using their own credit cards for illegal contributions (eg, foreigners). And my whole point was that it’d be tough to explain in an ad why AVS is important to protect campaign finance laws. But if they ran the ad you suggested, it’d be deceptive, as credit card theft shouldn’t be an issue.
In other words, use it.

A sock puppet called the Press
Jumpedship (Diary) Saturday, October 25th at 4:16AM EST (link)**I used to think of the press as one of America’s great resources for protecting its citizens. This year, I see mainstream media as puppet with Obama’s hand in the sock.
I heard that NBC was so far in the tank for Obama that someone needed to throw them a life preserver. Personally, I think SCUBA gear is more appropriate.
I can’t imagine a President, ushering in Socialism, and running unchecked by the press for 4 years. The loss of an objective press is incredibly dangerous.
I can only hope that the press and mainstream media realize their duty is to the American public. And not to any one man.
A Conservative Video Campaign You Must See...

These come from the “Burning Down The House” video that was on Drudge.
Here is the latest video. It is incredible. If only McCain did more videos like these…
http://windsofchange.thruhere.net
I think it could have viral qualities.
There are many other videos on this YouTube channel:
http://www.youtube.com/themouthpeace
Spread these videos and post them everywhere. Think of it like this, with 10,000 committed people posting these in 10 places each day over 10 days, that is 1,000,000 postings.
If 10 people see each posting that is 10,000,000 views. If only 1 in 10 send it to 10 people that is 20,000,000 views.
Now you are talking enough impact to change an election! Let’s do that!
