Joe (Sam, but whatever) didn’t “just happen” to ask Obama a question. He went up to him on purpose to ask him fantasy questions which Obama took the time to answer in detail, regardless that Joe (Sam, but whatever) didn’t listen or didn’t try to listen or didn’t want to listen to him at the time of the exchange.

“I didn’t think they were asking him tough enough questions,” he said on Thursday.
“So, I thought, you know, I’ll go over there. I’ve always wanted to ask one of these guys a question and really corner them.”

Then McCain mentions his name over 20 times during the debate and reports that the McCain Camp tried to contact Joe (Sam but whatever) during the debate but the line was busy.

McCain aides say there was no heads-up for Joe the Plumber, who’s headed out to the morning shows tomorrow.
“Joe didn’t know” that he’d be at the center of the debate,” said Matt McDonald.

“We tried to call him during the debate, but his phone was busy,” he said. “We’re not going to put him through media training.”

So they knew all about Joe and what they were going to do with “Joe”. Shows a serious lack of giving a crap about “Joe” by the McCain Campaign. But then Joe (Sam, whatever) says this:

Wurzelbacher said he didn’t give any interviews before Wednesday’s debate because he was busy fixing a water main break at a gas station and “I was muddy and soaking wet.”

Oh, so he knew he would be giving interviews? He knew McCain was going to throw out his name every other minute? Curious.

The next day McCain didn’t seem too worried about old Joe when he continued to his “Joe the American Plumber (who isn’t one) theme:

“The real winner last night was Joe the Plumber,” McCain said at a rally in Pennsylvania.

McCain used the guy and then the guy goes on all the talk show spouting talking points about socical security and other such nonsense. Who made this grown man do all those things?

McCain dragged Joe (Sam, but whatever) into the spotlight and Joe himself played right along.

Wurzelbacher said in an exclusive interview with Diane Sawyer on “Good Morning America.” “My son is digging it. It’s kind of neat.”

At least Joe/Sam now understands that he would get a better tax break under Obama.
