In my opinion if Mahoney had the slightest bit of real commitment to the causes of his party he should withdraw and let them field another candidate. I guess we have already determined that he puts his own pleasures above his family or his causes though.

I don’t particularly think the NRCC or DCCC is responsible for “disowning” a candidate based on his electibility, only a chronic record of acting against the party’s overall agenda would warrant that. I think they were both fine in continuing to fundraise for their candidates, though Democrats who threw a hissy fit about Foley should be looking up recipes for crow right about now.

If Pelosi can’t get Mahoney and “Cold Cash” Jefferson to step down, how can she claim to have swept away the GOP “Culture of Corruption”?

Reading the stories, it is interesting that the sources for the coverup and the second affair are both Mahoney current or former staff. Seems like some disgruntled employees torpedoed him. Couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy!
