Erick, this is unworthy of your considerable talents. It’s bad enough that it comes from the Enquirer. (Yes, they got the Edwards story right but even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in awhile.) But the facts delivered by the story do not suggest an affair with Obama, only that the man was a pervert. Indeed the only underage affair specifically mentioned was with a girl.

It’s only the last sentence of the article that nudges one to stretch their brain to thinking perhaps Obama was a victim, too. But they were purposefully coy about it, and you’ve chosen to put right out there plain as day. In other words, you’ve amplified the shoddy journalism, not just reported on it.

Besides: even if the worst is true, it means Obama was a victim. And if it is, you’ve just set yourself to appear amused by it.

Short anecdote: I remember years ago when my dad first needed to take antihypertensive medication and while waiting for a haircut in a barber shop, he just happened to read something about a certain side-effect of the drug he was given – in Enquirer. Later that day after speaking with his cardiologist, he received a call back from the doctor and amazingly, the warning about the medication was in fact true, and that my dad should stop taking the medication.

It just proves that often where there’s smoke …

My #2 option is that I hope like crazy the rumor about Barack having an affair with his staffer that has relocated to Martinique is freakin’ true. I’ll leave out her name, for now.

Since when is an underage gay affair a problem for liberals? Many in that crowd would consider that a badge of honor.

In 2007, Bellevue Baptist Church in Memphis TN had a major scandal. A longtime (20+ years) associate pastor on staff had been exposed to have been molesting his own son for over 10 years. The son married and a few years into his marriage (2006-7) he exposed the acts to his wife, friends, and church staff. The associate pastor attempted to cover it up but the truth came out.

Why do I bring this up?

Because the pastor admitted that he had been sexually abused as youth…and repeated the pattern as a father on his own son.

I don’t now how to be gentle about this so I’ll just say it…

If Davis abused Obama, there is a great chance that the pattern would be repeated with his own children.

I, like many others, knew the abuser and the abused in the scandal.
We had no idea…no one did.

Forget the presidency, for the sake of Barack’s children this needs to be addressed immediately.

Now, from time to time your recent articles, playground rhetoric has carried important points. I actually appreciated your Oct. 7 post on Barney Frank’s long-time affair with Herb Moses. Some of your wording was mean-spirited, IMHO, jabbing at his homosexuality and his speech impediment. But the great point you made was that Frank clearly breached ethics due to the conflict of interest as he sat on the House Committee responsible for oversight of the GSE where his “spouse” was an executive.

But what is the good point that you are making here? And meanwhile, is it possible that you are taking some sick, boyish pleasure in the possibility that this may advance the theory that Obama may be bisexual, as well?

Erick, surely you don’t think that sexual abuse of minors is funny. This post made me think that perhaps you did, and reminded me of the worst of political discourse, not the best, that I have generally expect from you and RedState.

The point of Erick’s post was that this sort of thing would pass as a totally valid story if the participants were republicans. Even the MSM would be putting it out there.

We have a director who amplifies and extends an article in the Enquirer for reasons that escape me, as even if it were true I don’t see how it would be anything but just sad. We have others who find pedophilia amusing, as if it is a big hardy har har when it happens. We have still others ready to take it a step further and accuse Obama of molesting his own children, despite the lack of anything remotely resembling a shred of evidence or reason to suspect same.

Republicans have enough problems this election cycle. We don’t need this. We don’t need, with a major butt whuppin shaping up, to complicate the rebuilding by positioning ourselves as the party that finds child abuse a huge roaring knee slapper.
