The Word Clouds

It is not too terribly difficult to find out what the message is of this convention. In two words, it is “John McCain”.

Here is Sarah Palin’s word cloud from last night. Fred’s, Joe’s, Huck’s, Mitt’s, and Rudy’s are all below the fold.

Note that the word “Obama” appeared only once in Sarah Palin’s speech.

Its funny how the "desk" story dominates Huck's cloud

The ultimate message was good, but I thought the story a little weird.

The word "Republican"

I didn’t think I heard her say it once, so I went and read the speech on JohnMcCain.com.

She didn’t say it once. Baffling.

How do you do these?

My guess is that you look at the transcripts of the speeches, find the most repeated words, and then have a computer generate the image. Am I close, or totally off base?

As far as the speeches themselves are concerned, I think Rudy’s was my favorite, although Palin’s was very good. It’s too bad that Mitt’s speech was terrible, because there was some good content in it.

“If people are not free to trade with each other, all other freedom is meaningless.”

Don’t blame me. I voted for McCain.

I copy the entire text and paste it into http://wordle.net

It does the rest.

Who will stand on either hand and keep this bridge with me?

And why does this baffle you?

Perhaps you thought she should have said something like:

Republicans believe that you are best able to decide how to spend your own money. The Democrats believe that some bureaucrat in the government knows best.

in 1976 we saw that we made the wrong choice in putting up Ford over Reagan..

last night we found out we made the RIGHT choice by picking McCain!

2) Rudy Giuliani

4) Joe Lieberman
5) Fred Thompson
6) Mike Huckabee
7) Mitt Romney

the GOP thank g-d was smart enough not to go with either Huck or Romney. We would be looking at a 35 state landslide for the libs if that would have happened!
