The Obama Abortion Ad

It took him a while to get the abortion ad to the press.

He uses a planned parenthood nurse.

No, not a nurse from the general medical field. He uses a nurse whose job it is to perform abortions to tell us all how we must not curtail the right to an abortion.

Obama does not mention in the ad that reducing abortions would impact the nurse’s pocketbook.

And who is the nurse? We should know. Who put the nurse up to do the ad. She does not give out her name. Did Obama seek her out or did Planned Parenthood encourage it — and potentially violate coordination laws in elections. Or is it an actress posing as a nurse?

This ad raises a lot of questions and fails to mention such things as Obama being even further left on infanticide than Planned Parenthood.

UPDATE: I didn’t hear it in the ad when I listened to it, but several people tell me she does say her name is Val Baron or something like that. Who is she?

I hope we have a Infant Born Alive Protection Act ad as rebuttal.

I think it’s time America had a conversation about abortion.

Shayelyn Wednesday, September 3rd at 2:34PM EST (link)

I read about the ad on Drudge. I live in one of the states it was supposed to run. For some reason, I expected it to be on television. Then I heard it twice this morning on the radio at 8:55 and 9:55 a.m. The nurse does give her name at the beginning but I don’t remember it. It is an absolutely horrible ad and is nothing more than a scare tactic. As far as wanting to know who she is, I suspect it is for the issue of credibility, something we think is important.

Without this paragraph...

It’s just another post about how bad Obama is as a person and how bad he’d be as a president. Great, swell, wonderful.

The addition of that paragraph, however, makes me say “wait, what?”

And so I ask again: Why does it matter who she is?

It’s not a thing to me that you should be compelled to give that info to me — here is an area in which you are not one of us. I mean no offense by that, bird. But you Libertarian types don’t really have a dog in this hunt. MY Veep pick is being lied about and slandered by the press daily (and having her SSN made public). When Bill Clinton was facing impeachment, it was MY party victimized by the Democrats’ illegal use of FBI files to mount a successful campaign of smear and intimidation. MY whole party has been under assault for a generation by people who play dirty.

So for the Republican Party, it is war time. They go after us and our families personally. They have used a non-stop barrage of lies to drive the Bush approval rating down to the 30′s, and along with it the GOP brand. The smears of the left and left-media cost us the House and Senate in 06. On account of that, dozens of judges sit unconfirmed who would make this country more free (so maybe you Libertarians might want to pay attention). On account of that, the terrorists and Iran (I repeat myself) know with a certainty that the American media and left have made it impossible for us to take a birch switch to any other country in the GWOT. Every time I go to the gas station, the American media-left take money out of my pocket because they have used lies and personal attacks to vilify and obstruct domestic oil production.

So they have made it a personal war, and we will not win by playing gentlemanly. This woman presents herself as a nurse, and uses that presentation to try and advocate for the cause of murdering the unborn.

If I get her name and SSN, they are going on RedState. And DrudgeReport if I can get it there.

*A short little pro-McCain commercial comes out. A nice little old lady sitting at a nice breakfast nook with a blanket on her lap.

“It gets cold in my house in the winter, colder still now that Ed’s gone” pan over to a picture of, presumably, Ed and the nice little old lady and the picture was obviously taken back in the 1950′s. She’s a bit of a hottie in the picture, he’s a good looking guy and he’s wearing a Navy uniform. “My heating bill keeps going up every year, though. Barack Obama doesn’t want us to start offshore drilling. John McCain wants to do that and that’ll help me with my heating bills. That’s why I’m going to vote for John McCain.”

I’m John McCain and I approve this message.*

(1) Which political faction in America started this ‘slash and burn’ war of personal attacks?

(2) Do you think that playing by gentleman’s rules against an enemy that feels free to employ every vile tactic imaginable will succeed?

(3) As for the little old lady, by virtue of appearing in a pro-Republican ad, wouldn’t you think that somebody at ACT, MyDD, MoveOn, or dKos is working on exactly what you said?

Quite frankly, it is part of the equation to me that the PP Obama commercial is advocating a practice that half of Americans feel is barbaric, immoral, and murder.

It’s enough for me, and I think most viewers, that she gives a name and admits she works for Planned Parenthood. Even if she is an actress and/or the name is false, I already see personal bias, agenda and financial interest shining through.

Tracking her down to expose any dishonesty in the ad, even potential illegalities, will backfire and just get you added to the list on those websites that track abortion clinic murders, bombings, harassments, picketing, funny looks, etc.

The numbers of these kinds of incidents have been dropping steadily or gone to 0 in the past decade, so they’ll take anything they can get to continue the “crisis”. Lefties depend on the abortion industry to bolster their “Right Wing Fringe Violence” Talking Points, so let’s not give them anything by picking on an abortion nurse.

Now, going after Planned Parenthood, Inc. and the abortion industry as a whole? Fair game.

A distinction that I am seeing...

birdmojo (Diary) Wednesday, September 3rd at 3:56PM EST (link)

Sarah Palin, like it or not, is running for Vice-President.

What’s-her-name, from the commercial, is not.

Again, we’re not talking about putting Biden’s stuff out there and seeing if there’s any dirt on him. (I understand that he has allies in the Credit Card business community!)

We are talking about making public the stuff from a pretty much everyday person who shows up in a commercial.

Do you not see this distinction? This is not me saying that what happened to Palin was okay. I don’t think it was… but I knew that the second she got nominated that people would be calling her second grade teacher to find out if she picked her nose. There’s a certain lack of privacy that comes with running for office.

But we are not talking about that stuff, we’re talking about publishing the information of a non-politician who shows up in an ad.

Now I am deliberately being careful here because I’ve seen more than one person on this board be banned for equating opposition to abortion to the condoning of this, that, or the other thing that the wackiest of the wacky Abortion Protesters have done. Surely none of us here condone shootings or bombings.

But the making public of all her laundry?
Going to her house and standing outside of it?

Surely you understand how someone might knit his or her brow and ask “wait, what?”

Since when was abortion a federal issue, not a state one? It seems like PP is way oversimplifying the legal issues involved here.

And didn’t McCain say something at Saddleback about it being a states right issue? Seems he has a better understanding of the abortion issue as a whole than the hacks at PP.

And given what’s going on in the world with Iran and a resurgent Russia, aren’t there more important issues to be talking about than whether or not a woman has the right to murder abort her baby?

Roe v Wade became a constitutional right in what year? How many Republican Presidents have we had since then for how many years? If it hasn’t been overturned yet, there is no guarantee that it will be overturned now. The real question is why this ad at this time? The people who are die-hard Democrats are not going to change their minds. The people who are die-hard Republicans are not going to change their minds. This ad is trying to appeal to certain potential voters. Like I stated earlier, just scare tactics.

I see the distinction

E Pluribus Unum (Diary) Wednesday, September 3rd at 5:08PM EST (link)

I just don’t find it compelling. This woman is not advertising for corn flakes. She is participating knowingly in lies (any medical professional who regards an abortion at any stage of pregnancy as being conducive to reproductive health is lying), and agitating for the continued legal right to murder unborn children. She declares herself a member of the Dem team – the same team that smears, lies, and personally destroys Republicans.

Now FWIW, this woman is small potatoes to me. There are 230 Representatives, 51 Senators, a whole TON of partisan media types, various state Dem officials, Hollywood flacks, high up muckety-mucks of various sorts, and low-life muckrakers, etc, who I would set my sights on before getting around to this little french fry.

There does indeed need to be an ad showing Obama’s support of infanticide, partial birth abortion, taxpayer funded abortion, and lack of any regulations on who does abortions (so much for women’s “health”). He promised his first act as President would be to sign a repeal all of those laws in all the states via FOCA.

Unfortunately, people are largely unaware of any of the the legal realities or logic, and they really don’t care to learn. Knowing that, it is Obama, not McCain, who is the extremist.

I find it surprising that any radio station for general audiences would air this. If something like that were in my area, I would call the radio station and complain.

People get all worked up – rightly so – about the genocide in Rwanda in the 90′s where about 700,000 people were killed. Same for Darfur, although I’m not sure anybody has a handle on the numbers.

Here in the US the abortion industry butchers between 1MM and 1.5MM unborn children every year, primarily because they are inconvenient to the woman carrying the child. Roughly 95% of all abortions – and most are performed at “clinics”, non-regulated medical facilities, most run by Planned Parenthood or groups like PP – are not medically necessary. The life of the woman is not in danger, the child in question is not the product of either rape or incest, he/she is simply an inconvenience to the woman at the time in question.

So, in direct answer to your question, yes. I know what genocide looks like. It looks like the mangled/saline burned bodies of over 1MM inconvenient children slaughtered every year in this country. And just because five SCOTUS justices found a way to create a “right to privacy” where none, in fact, exists in the Constitution doesn’t make it any less genocide than if the government in Darfur passed a law outlawing Christianity and making affiliation with Christianity a capital crime and requiring “good Muslims” to help the government carry out the mandatory death sentences.

I will be happy to provide pictorial evidence of exactly what the “product of abortion” looks like if you doubt for one second that those unborn, inconvenient, children are just a “cell mass” or are anything less than or other than human.

With respect to the “racial” part of the statement, it is a fact that Margaret Sanger – founder of PP – was a racist. Her whole rationale for legal abortion was to induce minority women – black women specifically – to abort their children with the ultimate goal being the elimination of blacks. Today, most PP clinics are located in minority neighborhoods and, while blacks represent about 9% of US population, they represent well over 50% of all abortions. So, the work of groups like PP and NARAL is absolutely the practice racial genocide in the minority community.

If you doubt for one second that those unborn, inconvenient, children are just a “cell mass” or are anything less than or other than human, I will be happy to provide pictorial evidence of exactly what the “product of abortion” looks like.

He said that the monstrous nature of the Republicans meant that he had to be monstrous himself.

Now EPU is saying the same thing. But EPU and the Democrat would-be monster are both wrong. A monstrous foe does not require us to become monsters. It requires us to become heroes. Don’t be tempted to follow the devil’s path to easy power. No matter how good your intentions, you know where that road leads. That easy power will turn upon you in the end, and anything built with it will fail when it is needed most.

Heroes, not monsters. That’s what we must be in this battle. And if the monsters and their allies think we are monstrous because we defeat them, that’s on them. But we must not, will not become like them, no matter what temptations we are offered.
