If you read a bit further and check out articles/interviews from the last several years, you'll find that her feelings for this nation are distinctly pro-American. </p> <p>The point of the this posting seems to me to be that she is comfortable operating large, powerful firearms. This suggests that she is a strong person with an adventurous streak that is confident in her abilities and supports the 2nd amendment. It offers an interesting tidbit about her personal life and beliefs. I also have experience in handling firearms (alas, not the automatic variety) and agree that it doesn't mean you can lead the country.
