MSDNC Claims It Has No Bias

Don't watch the channel and you might think they are right. Watch it and you know it is the mouthpiece for the DNC.

MSDNC has defended its coverage of the Democratic Convention as not partisan.

hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.

MSNBC is as objective as RedState, but less professional.

“MSNBC does not have an ideology,” Griffin said. “We hire smart people who are passionate about their love of politics and love of news.”

“Do I want them to have squabbles?” Griffin asked. “No. But I understand they’re human.”

This from the guy who just ditched Dan Abrams for Rachel somebody because Abrams did not have a partisan enough show and Olbermann wanted Rachel on instead.

Seriously, this network operates like Howard Dean’s hand is up Keith Olbermann’s butt moving his lips.

And they are reaping what they sow. The fact of the matter is that both CNN and Fox have done a very good job separating their opinion talent from their news talent. Both have pretty balanced and fair news.

Noticeably, Fox is the only network that has a rule requiring a political operative from both sides of the aisle when discussing a political topic. MSNBC does not even have that.

That Griffin denies all of this means he is either a liar or a fool. That he cannot seem to stand up to Keith Olbermann makes me think it is the latter.

And she would die walking to town to vote Republican.

MSNBC makes me sick. I watched it for a short time when Tucker Carlson went over in my younger days, then I found Olberman – that put an end to my watching days real quick.

Weird how that happened. Now the R’s have Fox and the D’s have MSNBC. I guess fair is fair!

Can you explain why?

BigAl3111 Wednesday, August 27th at 10:48PM EST (link)

Why is Fox different from MSNBC relative to biased coverage?

The Ds also have ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, CNN Headline News, CNBC,

as well as most other television channels. Rs have only Fox and talk radio.

“We hire smart people who are passionate about their love of politics and love of news.”

This makes no sense, who is passionately objective?

You’re passionate because you care which way something comes out. Objective reporters shouldn’t be passionate (no thrills up your leg), or MSDNC should just come clean about their partisan tilt. At least I would stop assuming that they think I’m dumb.

The American people aren’t that dumb, we know that the press is biased. I’d rather they just cop to it and not try to insult our intelligence. Bias is okay, everyone has bias because that’s how people are wired. The right (no pun intended) thing to do would to be to balance out the biases like Fox does very well and CNN does pretty well.

Fox has plenty of Democrats on all the time (heck a lot of them have their own shows from Greta to Shep to 1/2 of H&C). For every R partisan hack you see a D partisan hack. Here’s the difference, because they actually allow a conservative voice to be heard along side the liberal voice instead of mostly liberals like many other networks, y’all think that there is a conservative bent. One station is giving you both sides of the argument, the rest of presenting mostly just the D side. Got it?

Fox, in its news coverage is very non-partisan whereas MSNBC....

…Well they purposefully and actively campaign for Obama to the point that they might as well just seal the deal and say they officially endorse Barack Obama for POTUS.

As an example for Fox. FoxNews did an extensive vetting of both John McCain and Barack Obama for a series of shows. They aired one night after the other. They were both very fair and drew the lines clearly between the false charges and the actual issues. Some might even say they were harder on John McCain than they were on Barck.

So do you get the difference now?

Those guys are so funny. If they do not see bias in what they do, then they are incapable of seeing bias anywhere. They are neck and neck with dKos and Air America.

The Kerry campaign practically was run from MSNBC. Things have gone downhill since.

Olbermann, in the pre-Countdown days, actually went around and denied there was any media bias. I knew Olbermann was delusional enough to believe he was objective, but Griffin’s description of him as “straight down the line” is a howler.

It’s become crystal clear that the average citizen must have a decoder ring to UN-spin most stories covered by MSM.

Fair enough

BigAl3111 Wednesday, August 27th at 11:59PM EST (link)

I stopped watching FOX news a couple years ago because of Hannity. But I did enjoy watching Greta and I though Shepard was pretty good, particulary when covering news events. I don’t watch TV news much at all anyway. So I watched the DNC on MSNBC and yes, I was surprised at how biased it was. That’s why I said earlier how it’s weird. For someone who checks in rarely to network news, it seems that MSNBC is fully biased toward demo’s. But I can’t agree that FOX isn’t anything but biased toward Repub’s either.

Biased but fair. All human beings have an opinon

But, there is truth and there is falsehood, and I demand that same be acknowledged by those I converse with. Fair?

Sometimes I wonder

BigAl3111 Thursday, August 28th at 12:11AM EST (link)

what it would have been like if the internet was available during the civil war. I’ve been a single father and now grandfather for that last 18 years. Finally retired, I have more time to read and learn about politics. I am against war, which is the primary reason I am against Bush. But the venom on both this site and Daily Kos is really something. What’s becoming of the people of this country?

against war? what does that mean?

1). We come down like a hammer on profanity;

2). We don’t give anti-Semites, racists, and misogynists free reign (we also come down hard on religious bigots and virulent homophobes, but I’m pretty sure that dKos at least makes the effort with those two);

3). And we most emphatically don’t waste our time trying to build something out of folks like yourself.

Dem_Lurker Thursday, August 28th at 10:16AM EST (link)

But I have loathed the coverage of the convention by all the media outlets. It’s constantly invented stupid memes, intangible goal posts. for the D convention its been nothing but “party unity yet? did they attack enough? how many times did he say Obama, and was it enough times for it to count as an endorsement?”

For the R convention its going to be, “did they distance enough from bush/ stay close enough, did they throw a big enough bone to evangelicals without alienating indys? was mccain too angry old man?- how many times did they say POW, is it going to work?”

All the pundits are grade A retards- watch the conventions on C-SPAN.

MSDNC cheers for catastrophic Gustav

Gypsy_Man Thursday, August 28th at 5:25PM EST (link)

This is incredible! MSDNC had a Hurricane Gustav cheering section last night because they are happy it may hit New Orleans. Never mind the death and destruction, as long as it will remind people of Katrina and hurt McCain it is apparently worth it. Disgusting!

Props to http://www.notwrightforamerica.com for pointing out last night how the media were cheering Gustav on. It’s disgusting that they would use hurricane victims for political gain.
