Choices for the people of Northern Africa

The conflict in North Africa that has resulted in the overthrow of the governments of Tunisia, Egypt and Libya now is faced with a monumental decision. Where do they go from here? Each must establish a government and each must pick a standard by which to govern. Do they govern by a council of men like the communists, do they govern by democracy where the majority rules like the French, do they govern by the rules of a theology and if so who’s theology. This is the same situation that the Israelites were faced with when they came to Canaan. Joshua presented them with this decision. Joshua 24:14 and 15
“Now therefore, fear the Lord, serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the river and in Egypt. Serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the river, or the Gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
The people of these countries have the choice, they can serve another man like the dictators they just removed from power, they can serve the god of their fathers in Islam and have an Islamic government, they can serve the god of men and have an atheistic government like China or France or they can choose a democratic-republic form of government. Regardless of their choice they must also choose what form of moral code they will live by. For no government can provide and manage the morality of the people, this is left to each person to choose. John Adams said it when this nation was formed; the constitution is wholly inadequate to govern an immoral nation. The founding fathers were relying on the moral teaching of the bible to provide the personal foundation that would act as the ethics of the new nation.
In these three new countries it appears that all three will choose sharia law as the moral teaching. If history repeats its self these nations will languish in poverty and instability at best and at worst will dissolve into rule by another iron handed dictator or council. When people give to their government the power to set the moral code of the county they are left hostage to the moral interpretation of those that run that government and in time will be faced with a moral and ethical dilemma to either comply or rebel. We have seen this in France during the revolution, Germany in the 30’s and 40’s, Russia in the teens through the 1980’s and before that under the Czars, China under the Maoist dictators and currently in Iran. But the United States, Canada, Great Britain, and others who followed the teachings of Christ and called upon each of their citizens to make a personal commitment to those teachings, have prospered. Over the centuries many of their citizens have strayed away from that commitment but much of the beliefs and standards still permeate the culture.
As Jesus gave us the parable of the man cleansed of the demon (Matthew 12:43-45), these countries have been cleansed of a demon and are now left with a vacuum or emptiness that must be filled. The question is will it be filled with the truth which is Christ (“I am the way the truth and the life”) or will it be filled as the man was with another demon only seven times worse. If we look at Iran or Iraq we see turmoil. If we look at Kuwait, Saudi Arabia we see unbridled indulgence and a morality of convenience. These nations do not have a real moral compass that guides the country though they invoke one when it is convenient to fit the situation and the people involved. The leaders of Iran set the moral compass that is used to keep them in power and repress the freedom of the people. They do not acknowledge their failures for to do so would bring their authority and divine appointment into question.
Even though the U.S. is not perfect (it has never claimed to be perfect) it is one of the few countries that acknowledges its failures, deals with the fall out of those failures and makes an attempt (however belated) to correct the wrongs. Because of this and the acknowledgement that our government exists by the grace of God and the will of the people, Americans are in many ways free. In few countries will you see a people free to discuss their beliefs, their hopes or their wishes. We do this regularly in this country without consequence from the government but not without consequence from the competing opinions of other people. In the court of public discourse we hold one another accountable. This is the America of free discourse and this is why, when one group tries to suppress the others free speech, there is so much backlash. But in Iran, Russia, China, the State or the powers that be, hold the right to express an opinion and only those that are in agreement may express their view point. They make the State either to be god or to be treated as the agent of god who is perfect or who cannot or should not be criticized. For who can question god?
But it was God through Moses who established representative government, created both a moral code and a civil code from which we derive our government. It is this spiritual standard that fills the vacuum and there is no place for the demon. For this government to work we the people must fill ourselves with Gods Holy Spirit and in so doing become His children by adoption. For where God’s Holy Spirit dwells no demon can reside. In America if we do not dedicate our hearts to God and search His word, and His will for us we will not be able to hold this republic together because this republic cannot sustain it’s self without a moral people behind it. This is why America is in greater discord today than at almost any time since it’s founding. America and the people in power that have the access to the most vocal public opinions have rejected the moral foundations of the Christian faith and now take delight in ridiculing those of faith. But they have no moral code to offer and no foundation on which to build. This is the madness of these times. While the liberated North African countries may be free of their dictators they are empty and looking for a leader to show them the right way morally and they can’t find a leader or a teaching so they are reverting back to the only thing they know and in the end maybe far worse off.

Missing a major point

The POTUS and the pundits are missing a major point. Not only was the election a repudiation of the President’s and Democrat’s policies it was a repudiation of their tactics. Voters are angry about the policies and about the spending and about the lack of jobs but forgive me if I SHOUT – ITS NOT JUST ABOUT JOBS. We are not that single minded or self centered. This voter is furious about the process used. The deceit, secrecy, vote buying, the size of the bills used to hide clauses that had no relevancy to the bill at hand, all of this smacked of a planned and measured attack on the freedom of Americans with very long term consequences. We now know that there was trap door wording hidden in the stimulus bill to implement portions of the health care legislation. All of this has been done for years in so many pieces of legislation that we may never find all of the clauses that will eventually allow the enemies of freedom to take our freedom away and put us under the control of the atheist, eugenic, scientific liberal community of the left. The goal of this current administration is to now attempt to control the people of America by regulation, by back door maneuvers or via activist judges so that they will eventually change the concept of government by the people to a government by the liberal left and we will have no legal free voice. Never has a congress or a President been so deceitful or so conspiratorial with his party against the general American public. Why would they do this, because they hate the process that provides so many checks and balances against their efforts. You see its more than jobs and the economy it’s about the process that guarantees our voice is heard and our rights protected. If you ride roughshod over the process you ride roughshod over the people. You cheat the people from their voice. And this was done so blatantly and with such a heavy hand that the American people realized that the Democratic congress could not be trusted. They locked out the Republicans from the process, refused to listen to the people and did in secret from behind closed doors what should have been done in the public square and we are furious. Secrecy comes in many forms, closed door meetings, bills of impossible length that are designed to conceal as much as they are to reveal, back room threats, and other efforts to push through legislation that is an abomination to the process and the people. The Democratic party leaders have proved that they cannot be trusted for they violated the sacred trust of the people. that violation must stop NOW.

Why were angry Mr. President

In a recent article in the Orange County Register the President stated that he believed Americans were angry with Muslims because of the economy. Again the President displays his ignorance of the American people and his disconnection with the average American. We are not angry with Muslims because of the economy. We are angry with Muslims because of their silent tacit approval of Radical Islamic terrorism. Why do I say this? Let us examine recent events. In the news a pastor of a small 30 member church proposed to publicly burn a Koran. The very small relatively insignificant pastor caused an international storm that was used to incite riots, protests, flag burnings, and other symbols of anti-American sentiment throughout the Islamic world. There was no proposal to send suicide bombers; there was no recruiting of or training of suicide bombers just a symbolic protest. He was wrong in trying to do this and he was openly and publicly condemned by both secular and Christian leaders around the world. Let me compare this to an Islamic protest where a young man is loaded with explosives and detonates himself in a public square killing people indiscriminately. In the West we are appalled yet we see no denunciation from Muslim leaders we see no press releases being sent condemning these acts. What do we see, Muslims throughout the Middle East celebrating in the streets. When Sadam Hussein fell in Baghdad did we see Americans dancing in the streets, no we saw Iraqis dancing. We over through Sadam not because he was Muslim, his religious belief was of no importance to us. He was overthrown because he was a bully, a mass murderer, a destabilizing fascist who threatened the world. If Islam is truly a religion of peace as its adherents try to tell us then they need to demonstrate it. When a terrorist blows up we need to see the protests in the streets, we need to see earnest, honest denunciations by Muslim leaders we need to see the Imums speaking out publicly condemning this kind of action. But what do we hear and see, silence, no words, no actions. Now you can’t tell me that they are not able to make such statements or stage such protests. When a small pastor threatens to burn a Koran they are able to turn out thousands to scream in the streets. In the West we have a belief that if you disagree with something you must speak up. To be silent is to approve (tacit approval). While this may not be the tradition of the Middle East it is our tradition and if Muslims are to convince the West of their belief in peace we must see strong, consistent, honest and sincere denunciation of each and every terrorist act, including the beatings of non-Muslims for not dressing or complying with their traditions in non-Muslim countries. We need to see them help in tracking down and closing the terrorism camps, the extremist enforcement squads, the evil Imums that call for violence. When was the last time you saw a Christian suicide bomber, or a Christian squad that beat non-Christians for their dress, or conduct. When Christians enter a country their only weapon is a bible, reason, logic, love, and a voice. Yet they are not met with reason, but with violence, there is no discourse but only violent epithets and name calling. This is even the case in America where there is no discourse between atheists and Christians. Not in science, not in philosophy not in social direction.
So Mr. President, why are we angry with Muslims the above might give you a clue if you choose to listen.

PS: And by the way Mr President, this writer is angry with most European governments as well for letting the situation get out of hand again in their own countries and failing to do any thing about it. All we hear from them is condemnation of the United States because the US public is not as stupid as they are, and we are now beginning to stand up and say something (maybe too late). We must remember we are not Europe, we do not want to be Europe and the whole premise of our creation and existence was to be something other than and different from Europe. We are America not New Europe. And if the European nations don’t like that to bad. Now my friends in Europe don’t judge us by your standards because as far as I can see your standards or lack there in stink and now your have your enemy living in your midst and to remove them will be like having cancer surgery. The question is will the patient survive.

So let each of us return to the word and read it for ourselves and learn what Christ has taught.

1. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you

2. Pay a fair wage on time as promised

3. Do a fair days work for the wage paid and you will be rewarded

4. Money is not evil but the love of it and its acquisition is the root of evil for it can easily replace true love which is the love of God.

5. Mind your own business, if you agreed to work for a wage, work for that wage and do not complain if others are paid more or less. But know this that even God will reward those that use the skills given them for good. For even the God the father wants a return on His investment.

6. Honor God, your mother and your father

7. Pay your taxes

8. Give to God the things that belong to God. (A tithe feely given of not only money but of your mind, your heart and your time, your talent)

9. Do not make your faith the subject of your business that you may turn God into a profit center. (My house is a house of prayer but you have turned into a den of thieves)

10. Care for the poor, the sick, the widows and children

11. Do not place yourself in judgment over others but use discernment and judge the intents of others so that you will use your time, money and resources wisely for God

12. Do not seek revenge for wrongs but deal justly with others.

13. Encourage the discouraged, lift up the down trodden, and teach the simple.

These things and many more were taught by Christ. Seek them out for yourself.

We can see that after 70 years of human centered reasoning in society and politics we have only digressed into a social morass that declares the violation of the innocent and perversion of good as right and just. We see Christ declared a sexual deviant to justify the sexual deviant behavior of others. We hear righteousness decried as evil and love of life declared as a selfish deviant extreme. It is time to throw off the vileness of this evil and revolt against the revolting. It is time for either revival in faith for God and Christ or we shall surely be destroyed by our own hand. We must remember it was a revival in early America that brought about our independence, it was a second revival that shouted out against slavery and against discrimination. Let it be a third revival that brings about a thirst for a living devine truth. Abraham Lincoln said it best:

We have been the recipients of the choicest bounties of Heaven. We have been preserved, these many years, in peace and prosperity. We have grown in numbers, wealth and power, as no other nation has ever grown. But we have forgotten God. We have forgotten the gracious hand which preserved us in peace, and multiplied and enriched and strengthened us; and we have vainly imagined, in the deceitfulness of our hearts, that all these blessings were produced by some superior wisdom and virtue of our own. Intoxicated with unbroken success, we have become too self-sufficient to feel the necessity of redeeming and preserving grace, too proud to pray to the God that made us!

What comes out of us…

Words what are they? Stephen Wilbers syndicated columnist in his article in the March 20, 2010 edition of the Orange County Register says that “Words help define who we are.” In this definition he is quite right. Jesus went one step further. He said, hear and understand, not what goes into the mouth defiles a man; but what comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man. This year by their words and deeds we found out what defines our government. We sat and watched as the words that defiled our nation, our heritage and our way of life were spewed forth by our own elected officials. Not since the vile compromises that were made to keep slavery alive in this country have we seen such double dealing and back room brawling in one party. This is a bill that the people do not want. It is a bill that is being driven down our throats. Why? If this is such a great piece of legislation why is it so divisive? Listen to the people; we are not stupid as you have said. We are not fools. We can see when our legacy, our freedom, our independence is being sold for a bowl of porridge.

And the media blitz expands

Today I saw for the first time in California the new ad campaign for the public option. Proclaiming that the insurance companies have statewide monopolies in 49 states. The liberal congresses answer to this is “THE PUBLIC OPTION” as if there is no other solution. Let the government be the competition. What a farce. If as they say this is true then why don’t they use the anti-monopoly legislation we have to break these monopolies and bring competition back to these states. The state rules that prohibit out of state competition need to be broken and interstate insurance needs to be implemented. But this is a capitalistic solution and the left refuses to go this way. Their only answer is a government answer. But the government is not our friend. An all seeing all powerful government cannot provide the solution effectively, efficiently or compassionately. We the people must get involved in our government, in the people we elect, in the standards we demand of them. The same is true for the standards we demand of the press. No more humanist Ivy-League-eggheads and Hollywood press spokesholes.

The humanist press demands the exile of God and all things, this is backed by the Hollywood God-haters, and the science-is-my-god members of the scientific community not to mention the environmental community that bow’s down to mother earth and father sky. All of these anti-freedom anti-god groups want one thing, government to own operate and control all things except their industry. What the god-hating Hollywoodites don’t see is that eventually they will be a government controlled propaganda machine (or are they already). Here’s to goose stepping Joel Grey if we follow their way, life will be a Maoist Cabaret and we the God fearing conservatives will be either dead, in hiding, or in jail.

Defeat Obamacare, Cap-n-Trade, runaway spending and the democratic congress. Make The election year of 2010 a new year of independence.

5. Honor your mother and father if you want or your mother and mother or your father and father or your home town since parents are incapable of raising a child for we all know that “ it takes a village.”

7. You shall not commit adultery unless you are an actor or a member of the media in which case it is encouraged.

8. You shall not steal unless you are an “oppressed” minority and you are just redistributing the wealth

9. You shall not bear false witness unless it supports your agenda for the ends justify the means.

10. You shall not covet your neighbors possessions unless your neighbor is judged to be too wealthy then the government will do it for you

A poison framework for America

In another entry I spoke of poison pill and perfume pill legislation. Briefly poison pill legislation is the placement of language in a bill you want killed to ensure that no one will vote for it. Then you use the defeat of the bill against your opponent citing only the good that could have come from it. Perfume pill legislation is where you insert some item that will buy your opponents votes to get the bill passed. The Obama Health Care legislation will in the end carry both of these pills. Some of the most onerous clauses will be struck to make it look like the Democrats are listening. But in the end if it passes what will exist is a framework for the socialization of all of Americas Health care. Maybe not now or this year but bit by bit each horrid piece will be slipped in by this vile process. Suppose you want your funding bill passed to pay for better military equipment fine then the Democrats will insert their end-of-life counseling clauses into the bill. You either pass what they want or kill your military funding bill. And so it goes year after year, federal abortions on demand, mandatory abortions of Downs children, euthanasia of the elderly, etc. If you don’t think this happens research the records. In over 1000 pages of legislation rushed through without reading we are giving away the bank as part of the recovery legislation and no one read it. Senators and Members of the House are not reading this either. Even if they did few would be able to follow it. Years ago the CIA secured funding for a new building by hiding the appropriations in a wide variety of bills. No one knew it until the CIA moved in.
In years past I have been called on to read and analyze state legislation of far less complexity and I can tell you that unless you are completely familiar with all the legislation impacted by even a simple bill there is no way to determine how far the legislation can reach and the changes it can cause. How many times have we heard that congress or state legislatures have had to rush new legislation through because of unintended consequences of an earlier law?
We do not need this legislation. It is the wrong approach, and it will never be the correct approach.

To Serve Americans

Listening to the Democrat-Obama health care plan has brought to mind the line from the old Twilight Zone where the aliens land and proclaim that if we will trust them they will solve the problems of famine, war, disease etc. They hold a book who’s title is eventually translated “To Serve Man.” The world figures out that this is no noble book but a cook book and man is the main entree.

So to is the current health care plan it will serve up American freedoms to an overreaching federal government and there will be no turning back. The cry from the White House is that too many Americans have no insurance and it’s killing the system that provides for the rest of us. Their only solution is to push all of us into what amounts to the VA hospitals, for as time passes all Americans will be in this plan and therefore all hospitals and doctors as well. In Los Angeles we had a taste of what an ObamaCare hospital will be like, they called it Martin Luther King Drew Medical Center and it was killing people. So poor was the care that the County closed the hospital. It’s been closed over a year now and no one has come to its rescue.

If people don’t like insurance companies dictating their care what will it be like when a former DMV clerk or disgruntled federal employee starts dictating their care. No let it never be. The federal government can’t manage what it has now effectively. How will it manage a program that will increase its responsibility by another huge percentage? It can’t, by the very nature and size of the program it can’t be managed. So what do we do? Fix what we have. Don’t throw out the whole system just because less than 10% of us aren’t served. But how do we fix it? Here are some ideas just ideas to stimulate thought:

1. Do what we can do to create more and better medical professionals and thus increase competition.
a. Work with the medical schools to create a means to finance medical education for American citizens that will not leave doctors, nurses, and medical technicians with insurmountable debt upon leaving school.
b. In return for the special funding require the graduates to serve in areas that are under-served and in need of family practice doctors

2. Reform the medical liability system. Make it possible for doctors to do their jobs in a thorough and complete manner without the fear of losing everything in a single frivolous lawsuit. Doctors are people and medicine is as much an art as it is a science. We need to realize that doctors are people and imperfect. We need to help them have the time and support, the checks and balances to ensure as much perfection as is possible and reasonable.

3. Reward the investment community for investment in hospitals, medical research, and medical service to the under-served by providing tax breaks for facilities built and maintained in areas where service is lacking.
4. Limit the impact of illegal immigrants on the health care system. In California illegal immigrants have created a tremendous drag on the health care and welfare system.

5. Work with the general insurance system to eliminate monopolized markets

6. Increase competition by establishing insurance cooperatives for individuals that are self employed or employed by small business.

If we can send a man to the moon, build the finest airliners in the world, design and manufacture some of the highest technology imaginable surely we can find an answer to rising health care costs without turning it over to the government and creating a mismanaged form of VA medical system on steroids

Obama-Clinton to undo the American Revolution

Secretary of State is attempting to undo the American Revolution. She has stated that she wishes to see America subject to the the international courts in Europe. An so it comes full circle from bondage to foreign governments to freedom and now we sell our souls to the foreign governments to emulate their false and corrupt forms. Thank you fellow Americans who voted for Barak Obama now be prepared for bondage. As for me I will fight to keep my freedom with my voice and my vote.
