When informed of the request from the Chairman of the House Ways & Means Committee, Richard Neal, to the IRS for six years of his tax returns, President Trump said he is “not inclined” to do so because he is under audit. Trump remarked:

Is that all? Usually it’s 10. So I guess they’re giving up. We’re under audit, despite what people said, and we’re working that out — I’m always under audit, it seems, but I’ve been under audit for many years, because the numbers are big, and I guess when you have a name, you’re audited. But until such time as I’m not under audit, I would not be inclined to do that.

My colleague Streiff reported on this story last night here.

Unwilling to take no for an answer, AOC sent out a tweet which said, “We didn’t ask you.”

Trump, for his part, frequently mocks the freshman congresswoman from New York. Earlier this week, speaking to a group of House Republicans about AOC’s efforts to save the world from the menace of climate change, he said, “The Green New Deal, done by a young bartender, 29 years old. A young bartender, wonderful young woman.”

Ocasio-Cortez has quickly risen to a position of power in the Democrat controlled House and isn’t afraid to flex her muscles. She feels so mighty, in fact, she’s not afraid to berate the President of the United States.

Her power came to her quickly and, in a place like Washington, D.C., it can vanish just as fast. Her presumptuous behavior will make her a target, if it hasn’t already.

There is such a thing as grace.
