Jim Acosta Unintentionally Proves That Border Walls Work

The joke was on CNN Legend (in his own mind) Jim Acosta earlier today. Acosta traveled to a walled section of the US-Mexico border to prove that Trump’s “manufactured” national emergency did not exist, but instead wound up proving that border walls work.

Acosta posted a video of himself strolling along a steel border fence. He reported “Here are some of the steel slats that the president’s been talking about. But as we’re walking along here, we’re not seeing any kind of imminent danger. There are no migrants trying to rush toward this fence. No sign of the national emergency that the president has been talking about. As a matter of fact, it’s pretty tranquil down here.”

The caption for his video read, “I found some steel slats down on the border. But I don’t see anything resembling a national emergency situation.. at least not in the McAllen TX area of the border where Trump will be today.”

This incredibly pompous journalist, without realizing it, actually proved Trump right. Border walls work.

Predictably, social media exploded in derisive comments over Acosta’s stupidity.

Fox News’ Greg Gutfeld said “Acosta’s video was too good to be true for Team Trump. That [appeared like it] was paid for by the Donald Trump 2020 reelection campaign. He is in a spot at a wall, and he says see there’s no problem here.”

White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders expressed her thanks to Jim. She tweeted: “When I went with President @realDonaldTrump to the border today, I never imagined @Acosta would be there doing our job for us and so clearly explaining why WALLS WORK. Thanks Jim!”

Many others tweeted to express their thanks to Acosta for becoming an advocate for the wall including Brad Parscale, Trump’s campaign manager.

Later on, Trump spoke to a border agent who said that over 90% of our traffic occurs in areas where there is no fencing.

I guess that’s why it was so tranquil where you were Jim, huh? Thanks for your support!
