A Couple of Caucuses/Primaries Coming Up Besides Florida

A couple of primaries/caucuses are coming up for the Republican primary.

February 4-Nevada (Binding caucus, 3 superdelegates, 25 delegates)

February 4-11-Maine (Non-binding caucus, 3 superdelegates, 21 delegates)

February 7-Colorado (Non-binding caucus, 3 superdelegates, 33 delegates)

February 7-Minnesota (Non-binding caucus, 3 superdelegates, 37 delegates)

February 7-Missouri (Non-binding primary, 3 superdelegates, 49 delegates)

A Plea for a New Candidate to Enter the Republican Primary

Dear any Republican besides this current field,

Will you consider entering this broken and unfulfilling Republican priamry field? Us Republicans all around the country need a new candidate to enter the field and take the momentum to win the Republican nomination.

This current Republican field is broken and corrupt. None of the candidates represent true conservative values and what it means to be a real Republican. None of these candidates can beat President Obama. We need a leader who will uphold the Constitution and express true conservative beliefs so that this country can get out of the hole that the Socialist-in-Chief has left us in.

WE NEED A CANDIDATE WHO CAN FOCUS ON ATTACKING AND DEFEATING PRESDENT OBAMA, INSTEAD OF ATTACKING FELLOW REPUBLICAN CANDIDATES.

What we need is someone who can help restore this economy and be a true conservative leader, unllike the President or any of the Republican candidates currently in the field.

We need a candidate who will support core conservative values and oppose all forms of socialism and Sharia law in this country.

We need a candidate who can defeat this socialist in the Oval Office in the 2012 presidential election. None of the current candidates can do that.

This country can do better than any of these candidates currently in the race. We need that true Republican candidate to be the bearer of the conservative flag in the 2012 presidential election and defeat Obama.

This is a plea for a true conservative Republican to enter the race right now. It is not too late to enter. Who cares that Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina went by? There are 47 states that still have not held there primaries and the Republican Convention does not occur until late August.

We need a new, true conservative candidate to enter this broken field, or, otherwise, we will have to deal with another four years of socialism and economic recession in this country.

Sincerely,

the concerned voters of the United States of America

Predictions For Upcoming Primaries/Caucuses

Florida (January 31)-Romney will win Florida in a close race. Gingrich will do well in the rural areas and the panhandle/areas close to his home state of Georgia, but, Romney will make up the difference in southern Florida and the coasts because that is where all of the high-income earners live. The senior vote will also go for Romney. Paul will do well in the college areas, and Santorum will take votes away from Gingrich in the rural areas.

Maine (February 4-11)-Romney wins in a decisive victory since New England is his home base and he dominated in New Hampshire. Paul also does well here because a lot of this area is libertarian-leaning and votes pretty moderate.

Nevada (February 4)-Romney wins in a pretty close race here. Nevada is Mormon country, and will vote for Romney. Gingrich and Santorum win some of the more rural areas, and Paul wins the college areas.

Minnesota (February 7)-This is more moderate country, and Romney will also win here. Gingrich and Santorum win the more rural areas, and Paul wins some precincts around Minneapolis and St. Paul.

Colorado (February 7)-Romney wins a close race against Gingrich and Paul. Romney does well here because it’s Mormon country and near Utah. Paul wins many precincts around libertarian Denver and the college campuses (i.e. Colorado, Colorado State). Gingrich and Santorum win the more rural areas.

Missouri (February 7)-Gingrich wins Missouri pretty decisively. Gingrich does well around most of the state, while Paul wins around the college campuses, and Romney’s voters are really scattered across the state.

Romney-5 wins

Gingrich-1 win

This shows that Romney will re-gain momentum going into Arizona, Michigan, and Super Tuesday. Santorum will probably drop out by the Arizona primary unless he re-gains momentum. It’s pretty obvious that no matter what, Paul will remain in the race because he just wants to promote his ideas and stay in the public’s eye. It will be 2008 all over again for him.

Please comment on any mistakes or disagreements.

Making the Non-Existent Case for Jon Huntsman

There is no case to be made for Jon Huntsman. He has had no chance
of winning the Republican nomination since he entered the race many months ago.
He made a terrible strategy of just focusing on one state (New Hampshire),
which he somehow thinks will get him the nomination. The former Utah Governor
is another Mitt Romney and does not represent true conservatives across the
country. His support of civil unions drives me away.

It is time for the former Utah Governor to drop out of the race
because he has non-existent poll numbers just days before the first caucuses
and primaries, and has not been able to drive conservatives to his campaign
because of his moderate image. He cannot change his moderate image because of
his past support of civil unions and other liberal policies.

He may have poll numbers that are okay in New Hampshire, but, that
is one state out of 50 states. He has absolutely no chance in any other state,
which means he has zero chance for the nomination. He even loses in his home
state of Utah! His message has not resonated with voters, and it will not
unless the boatloads of other candidates just fall apart. His presence in the
debates irks me because he has absolutely no chance for the nomination and has
no poll numbers above the margin of error! He ven admitted that on SNL in
November!

Jon, you’re a nice guy, but, it’s time to drop out, buddy……

Cain and Gingrich To Have Head-To-Head Debate Next Month

Some Texas tea-party activists have agreed to hold a “modified Lincoln-Douglas debate” next month between businessman and current frontrunner Herman Cain and former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich.

Bill O’Sullivan, the treasurer of the Texas Tea Party Patriots, says that both candidates have agreed to appear at the debate. The debate will mostly focus on fiscal issues.

The event will be held on November 5 at the Woodland Resort near Houston, and will also feature Rep. Steve King (R-IA) as an MC.

Both campaigns have said that they look forward to the “discussion.” Gingrich will speak at length about his policy proposals and his differences with Herman Cain.

“We initially wanted a forum with all of the candidates,” O’Sullivan says. “But when we heard Gingrich say he wanted a more serious debate, like the Lincoln–Douglas debates, we wanted to do that, especially since watching the recent superficial debates has been frustrating.”

Apparently, the event was easy to organize (probably because neither candidate had anything better to do). “We had a relationship with Herman Cain. He spoke at our tea-party event six months ago. We contacted him, asking if he was interested in a Lincoln–Douglas debate on entitlements. Then we got in touch with Speaker Gingrich.”

“This debate is going to be dominated by the candidates going back and forth, in a respectful way,” O’Sullivan says. “It will be divided into parts, one for each major entitlement — Medicare, Social Security, and Medicaid — with each candidate detailing their arguments.”

“These two candidates have been the most interesting people to watch in the debates,” he says. “So having them together for a modified Lincoln–Douglas debate will be great; it’ll be a real opportunity for the conversation about entitlements to get serious.”

No TV station has agreed to air the debate yet. I wonder why……

California Is Infringing On Our Voting Rights

Apparently, California wants to infringe on our voting rights and pass a bill that would effectively limit our choices for elective office, and violate the rights we have in electing members of our government.

The California State Senate will vote on Bill AB 1413 on September, 8. The bill would abolish the write-in space on all general election ballots, and deny Californians their right to write-in a candidate.

This bill would infringe on our voting rights to vote for any candidate who we want to if we don’t want to vote for one who is on the ballot, and the bill also takes away the rights of a candidate who wants to declare that he/she is a write-in candidate.

This bill will take away voting rights that all voters deserve to have. I recently voted for a write-in candidate in my area, and he got nominated. That shows that the write-in system does work and is good to keep for the Americans.

Last year, Lisa Murkowski won as a write-in in Alaska in the Senate election, which shows that the write-in process works. She spread her message that she was a write-in candidate, and enough people wrote her name in that she was elected; IN THE GENERAL ELECTION!

Five states currently ban write-in space on general election ballots: Oklahoma, South Dakota, Louisiana, Hawaii, and Nevada. Those states already infringe on our voting rights, and if California takes away the right to vote for a write-in from their citizens, that means 36 million people more will not be allowed to write-in in the general election.

Please hope this bill will be defeated. This bill infringes on ordinary Americans voting rights, and takes away the voices of candidates wishing to declare as write-ins, and people wishing to vote for a write-in.

If you have ever cast a vote for a write-in, please comment below.

HARRY REID PICKS HIS THREE NOMINEES FOR THE SUPER COMMITTEE

According to some Democratic sources close to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, Reid will pick his three nominees for the “super committee” assigned with finding $1 trillion in spending cuts by the end of this year.

The sources say that the three are: Patty Murray (D-WA), Max Baucus (D-MT), and John Kerry (D-MA).

Also, according to the sources, Reid has picked Murray to serve as the co-chair of the super committee.

House Speaker John Boehner, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell will also pick three nominees each to serve on the super committee.

Murray is chairman of the DSCC (Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee). Some Democrats may attack Reid for picking the chief fundraiser for the 2012 Senate elections.

This could help the NRSCC fundraise more than the Democrats during the rest of the year, as NRSCC Chairman John Cornyn (R-TX) is unlikely to be picked by Mitch McConnell to serve on the super committee, although he isn’t out of the question.

Max Baucus is chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, which could also entangle him with two powerful positions. Reid may have angered some liberals who think Baucus has had too much deal-making with Republicans over the years.

John Kerry has been lobbying for a spot on the committee, and the 2004 Democratic presidential nominee got it.

Reid will make a formal announcement on Wednesday about his picks for the super committee, but, they have already been leaked.

Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-IL) was interested in getting a spot on the super committee, but, apparently won’t. (Boo hoo!).

The other congressional leaders charged with picking their nominees for the super committee have until next Friday to announce who will be their picks for the super committee.

Reid picked three loyalists who will try and not make the super committee make cuts to Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid, and keep entitlement spending where it is now.

Of course, Reid picked three Senators who will do anything to not cut entitlement spending, which needs to be cut right now in order to bring our national debt down. If we decided to cut other things, it wouldn’t be enough. I can’t stand why people can’t just deal with cuts to entitlement spending.

Apparently, 13 Texans Are Running For President PART 2

(Continued….)

Jared Blankenship, a former teacher from Hereford running as a Republican, has been campaigning around Iowa for a while now and has been running an under-the-radar campaign.

He says the belief that Americans still have in the political system rejuvenated his campaign. (He was campaigning in Osceola, Iowa when he said this).

He is facing an uphill battle to try and receive votes in next week’s Ames Straw Poll. But, he met an elderly man while at lunch one time, and the old man said that he would cover all costs for Blankenship supporters to travel to the Ames Straw Poll.

This reminded Jared the grassroots movements can affect the party establishment.

“I was overwhelmed that there are still people in this nation that want to believe in something and are willing to back it up,” he said.

He has traveled over 1000 miles campaigning in Iowa, and has talked with small business owners in Texas. He says he has found many Republicans who are don’t feel at home with a GOP dominated by social conservatives rather than “small business ideals.”

“Most of our supporters are Republicans who feel that their party has run off and left them,” he said.

Vernon Edgar Wuensche, running his second presidential campaign, is someone who really doesn’t want to be president, but, is running because he believes the government has forgotten its purposes.

“I’m running because I want to improve the governance of the country. I’m a business owner, and my frustration is that there are no business practices in Washington,” he said. “These people are just seeking power.”

Wuensche, from Houston, is trying to focus on New Hampshire, Florida, and Nevada, and also says his largest problem is his lack of funding. His big supporters don’t want to donate to him until he shows that he can be a serious candidate on the campaign trail.

Other candidates from Texas that are running include U.S. Rep. from Texas’s 14 district Ron Paul (R), Gabriel Alexander Jimenez (R) from El Paso, John Hoelzel Jr. (I) from Ivanhoe, Timothy Terrell Day (R) from Galveston, Joseph Charles (I) from the Houston area, Scott Andrew Cain (I) from Garland, and Harold C. Heard Jr. (R) of Frisco. Texas Governor Rick Perry (R) looks like he will be the fourteenth Texan to get in.

None are likely to win the nomination (except Perry), but, they will try and make an impact on the primaries, the general election, and our political system overall.

Apparently, 13 Texans Are Running For President PART 1

Well, folks, with the distaste for the political system in 2012, there are more people than ever filing with the FEC to run for President against President Obama in next year’s election. Thirteen candidates for President that have filed with the FEC are from Texas, with a couple of them almost always in the headlines.

Out of the thirteen candidates, there are six Republicans, one Democrat, three Independents, two Libertarians, and one member of the Eco-Green Party.

All candidates share a view of a distrust of our politicians and our current political system.

William Felix Carter, a deeply-religious candidate from Fort Worth, says that he had a vision of himself in a car in front of the White House in 1988, and thought God was calling him to run for President. He has now run campaigns as a Democrat in 1988, 1992, 1996, 2000, 2004, 2008, and now 2012. He also says that if this isn’t his year, 2016 is.

“God promised to help me, and he promised to send people to help me,” Carter said. “If the Lord had not inspired me to run for president, I would not be involved,” he said.

He admitted that if elected president, it would be difficult to work with people who do not follow his ideals of Christianity.

Roger Lee Wrights, a 53-year old Libertarian and anti-war advocate from Burnet, is running on a platform of ending all wars. He has said that he is an ordinary person like everyone else, and that there’s nothing special about him.

He enlisted in the Air Force after high school, but he requested a nursing post so he wouldn’t have to “kill a soul.”

“There is a war on everything,” he said. “As I grew up, there was a war on poverty. People are still poor. Then there was a war on drugs, but people are still using drugs.”

He is a former bartender and also a former carpenter. He has also been active in the Libertarian Party since 2000, and with his $1000 donation to the LP, he is now a lifetime member of the party.

John “Green” Ferguson, a cattle ranch owner in Azle and the only member of the Eco-Green Party, is running a thoroughly green campaign for the presidency.

The 57-year old says his campaign will push through a green perspective. Most of his positions on the issues fall back on his green views.

“With the world falling apart, with the rain forest being cut down, the ozone going away and the animals going extinct,” he said, “we need to make changes to live here with each other peacefully.”

He jokingly said that he is assured his party’s nomination. He spent most of his life living in Arizona before buying a cattle ranch in Azle.

If elected president, Ferguson says he would immediately work to put Americans back to work by mandating nation-wide recycling for all waste. He would also raise the tax incentives on solar power from 30 to 40 percent, and ban the use of all fossil fuels within five years of taking office. I disagree with almost all of his positions, especially the fossil fuel ban.

Roger V. Gary, a history buff and Libertarian candidate from San Antonio, says that history could repeat itself as Abraham Lincoln was elected as the nation’s first Republican president in 1860, and he predicted that he himself would be the first Libertarian president (you have to be kidding me….).

“I started asking around, looking for good Libertarians who would want to run for president and I couldn’t find anyone else to do it,” he said. “So then I decided, ‘Hey, if no one else will do it, I’ll do.’”

He says his campaign will reach out of dissatisfied Libertarians, Democrats, and Republicans, and Independents.

He says he can lead the nation also because of his political experience. He was director of the San Antonio River Authority and chairman of the Texas Libertarian Party.

He says his first move as president would be to shrink the government by 40 to 50%.

Lawmakers Think They Can Control Anything

The University of Tennessee’s bookstore has pulled packages of breath mints off of their shelves after a state legislator complained.

On the box is a picture of President Obama and labeled “dissapoint-mints.” Democratic state rep. Joe Armstrong visited the store and told the manager that he thought the mints were “offensive.” Apparently, he thinks he has all of the power.

Armstrong told The Knoxville News Sentinel that the University of Tennessee uses both federal and state funds and should be sensitive to what he called “politically specific products.” Apparently, we can’t have our freedom of speech and can’t have “politically specific products.”

He also said that he went to the bookstore after a UT student complained to him about the mints. He thinks a little Democratic college student can complain to the University so that Obama will have a better chance of winning re-election by having these mints pulled off of the shelves. How stupid is that.

Here’s somethin’ else: Bookstore director David Kent said the bookstore previously carried mints that satirized former President George W. Bush and said no offense was intended. I wonder if those mints were pulled? (Probably not.)
