During the last election cycle, so many Social Conservatives (Evangelical Christians) stated how important Social Issues are. Now that the Mormon church is going under direct protest for their support of Marriage between a man and woman California Constitution, I see nothing on any this site in support of the Mormon church (Regardless of Religious differences) as they are being subject to protest in California for their support of the California initiative against gay marriage.
The question I find myself asking is this, what is more important to Social Conservatives (Evangelical Christians), Social Issues like abortion or Religious purity?
Unless ALL Social Conservatives stick together regardless of religious belief, there is little chance of Conservative Social Issues will be successful.
Yet I see a petition to call Republican Lepers if they dare be critical Sarah Palin. What is more important, Rumor mill about Sarah Palin, or Social issues like Gay Marriage?

Social Conservatives Did Not See McCain As Their Candidate
Strelnikov (Diary) Thursday, November 6th at 6:45PM EST (link)I wrote about this in mid-October:

My only conclusion since then: they must not have seen McCain as sympathetic to their concerns. For example, James Dobson at first said he would sit out the election, and only late in the game did he decide to hold his nose and support McCain.
The Catholic Church – never a unified voice, which as a Catholic I do not understand – had a few vocal bishops against Biden, Pelosi, and the Dems in general, but otherwise there was only lip-service given to “keeping respect for life” as you decided on candidates.

All SoCons...
Shawn Gillogly (Diary) Thursday, November 6th at 9:32PM EST (link)Have been under attack from the Left of the nation and our party since the election. The “moderates” can’t figure out they’re the reason we lost. And they figure if they whine to the media enough, we’ll take the flack for it.
Frum today basically said the SoCons should all take a walk off the plank. That they’d gain more than they lose. Not the 1st time that’s been said either.
Lots of churches of all persuasions get attacked for “hate speech” on these issue. Be ready for this to become an issue the left uses too. They’d love nothing more than to tell pastors it’s a crime to call practicing homosexuality a sin.
But SoCons did ‘not’ abandon the party. The “moderate”, “big-government” pseudo-conservatives did. Which is part of the reason why their candidates took a bath and not the true conservatives.
Lots of Bishops of the Catholic Church stood up and said that pro-infanticide Democratic candidates were being withheld communion too. They’ve been attacked for that choice (which was entirely right for them to do).
This website is secular, not Christian, as such. So you will see more concern for the political than the spiritual entities. Also, to be perfectly fair, the Mormon Church and the Catholic Church have ‘more’ than enough money to defend themselves much more ably (at least in potential) than we do. So while I, of course will speak and write in support of them, my tithe money is not going from my home church to them. Especially since my home church preaches against these things as well.
In fact, they did a big presentation at James River AoG, which I attend, this past Sunday. And although they did not endorse a candidate (of course) they said in the course of the montage in bold print “some issues” (and showed an infant) are more important than others (showing gas prices). That’s something the Frums don’t get. Throw out the pro-life plank, and it’s not just SoCon’s will be unhappy, they’ll walk. I’ll walk.
