Dear White House: some pretty fishy Americans we think you should know about

no thanks is necessary, just doing our patriotic duty

Since the White House has called on us to rat out our fellow Americans, I thought I would do my part.

There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to end of life care. These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation. Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov

I have compiled a helpful list of people behaving in ways that strike me as “fishy”.

First up, here’s a bully who interfered with the free speech rights of a couple of gentlemen.

Rick Monday : April 25, 1976

.

.
Jump with me to see more of these suspicious characters….

Second up, a fellow who seems just a little too anxious to wrap himself in the flag (please go to about 4:10 on the video)

Carl Lewis : August 4, 1984

.

.
.
A fellow using tragedy to bring up religion.

Ronald Reagan : January 28, 1986

.

.
.
This one making unseemly threats against terrorists our misunderstood friends.

George W Bush : Sept 14, 2001

.

.
.
Several people obviously pandering to bitter clingers.

Democratic Candidates : Nov 13, 2007

.

Fortunately, there was one person on that stage courageously representing unproud Americans.

Some Great Americans there.

The story about Rick Monday always makes my eyes mist up, for one.

These jerks wrapping themselves in the flag

Loren Heal (Diary) Thursday, August 6th at 3:18AM EST (link)

need to be investigated. Who are these guys, and what sort of villainy are they hiding?

It is most impressive that Dear Leader chose Hillary for such and important cabinet post, considering that she clearly holds her hand over her heart in that video. I guess He really does stand for diversity.

One wonders, however: if that is her attitude about the flag and associated “patriotic” symbolism, can we really trust her to represent the country abroad?

when he wavers there…doesn’t that remind you of a little kid who is being forced to stand still and listen to something he doesn’t want to?

If you’re not networking, you’re not helping.

The more I see that video

E Pluribus Unum (Diary) Thursday, August 6th at 9:16AM EST (link)

the more I think he *deliberately* had his hands down and not right-hand-over-heart. When I see the longer video it’s an even more distinct impression.

That was my first impression about Hussein O, too

RedWhite_and_Truth (Diary) Wednesday, August 19th at 8:21PM EST (link)

My impression exactly. You can almost see the visceral dislike, bordering on hate, for things patriotic and flag-related, and he is fidgeting within himself, just waiting for this whole campaign thing to be over with, so that he can go on and be crowned king and messiah.

Makes me want to puke.

Coersion, after all, merely captures man. Freedom captivates him.

I guess we should do our public duty and report ourselves????

LISA BULLOCK-HOCK (Diary) Thursday, August 6th at 4:52AM EST (link)

I think maybe we should flood their email by reporting ourselves. It might be fun. What a bunch of jerks. Yeah, this is the way to unite everyone–by getting them to report on each other. Can you spell KGB?

I turned my fishy self in yesterday

Kentucky Scott (Diary) Thursday, August 6th at 7:41AM EST (link)

I submitted myself for review along with the link to my recent red state diary on health care. I hope they get millions of American’s turning on themselves.

if they are asking

sdan (Diary) Thursday, August 6th at 9:20AM EST (link)

for anything that seems fishy instead of turning ourselves in we should just forward a copy of the health care bill to the white house. Seems to me the only thing fishy here is this bill.

Me too. I reported them though. see copy of email i sent.

LISA BULLOCK-HOCK (Diary) Saturday, August 8th at 9:17PM EST (link)

I sent them the link back to their blog. I’m sure that went over big. See below:

Here is a link to something fishy. Please put forward all the facts. The President has said many times his goal is a single payer-government run health care system. I think you should show that video as well. The bill that is in congress right now (what is published) is designed to put private insurance companies out of business not to keep them honest. I don’t appreciate facts being ignored or skewed to paint a different picture. I’m not part of a group, I’m just an informed voter, and I don’t appreciate the attitude of elected officials calling my dissent illegitimate. Please do your job–
“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”
Asking other citizens to report other citizens for excercising free speech is crossing the line.

The Reagan speech, I presume?

E Pluribus Unum (Diary) Thursday, August 6th at 9:23AM EST (link)

I hesitated to put this one in here, since that was a singularly tragic moment in our nation’s history, and that closing sentence has been forever etched in my mind.

…and slipped the surly bonds of earth, to touch the face of God.

It’s a little tough to watch. I finally *did* include it because if something like that does not make Democrats get serious about the road Bambi intends to take us on, I’m not sure whatever would.

Glad you included it, EPU. We need reminders

janis (Diary) Thursday, August 6th at 10:00AM EST (link)

of the fact that previous American leaders have not hesitated to commend the soul of our nation to God. Was with my folks for a couple of days this week and they were watching DVD’s from the 3rd season of “Little House on the Prairie.” When the scene of a church service was shown, it was a reminder of how rare it is now to see ANY reference to God and Christianity on TV anymore.

We have lost something extremely precious and necessary in our public lives. No wonder we are ruled by thugs, thieves and cheats.

Thanks EPU...'specially for the Reagan clip.

The first three bring tears to my eyes. 1976 was a tough and depressing time. Rick Monday’s act was inspiring then, and now.

George W Bush may not have been a great orator...

But I was choked up by that video, as much for the response of the crowd, and his obvious emotion for them and for the country.

Felt myself thinking, “Go get ‘em, George,” just like several in the crowd were yelling.

Ok, let's report them; Acorn, MoveOn, etc.

skicougar (Diary) Thursday, August 6th at 10:03AM EST (link)

They want people reporting those giving dis-information of the health care bill, I say we have plenty for you.

I’m sure there are many repoerts of Acorn, MoveOn, AARP, Media matters, Huffington, etc.; that have put out false information on the government health care bill.

So, send those reports in.

Hourly, daily, weekly.

We know for a fact that medicaid and medicare have grown over 80 times thier initial funding in 40 years, most doctors don’t want those government insured people as patients for the costs, time and trouble and liability insurance for doctors has exploded because of outrageous lawsuits by one of the largest donators to the Democratic party, trial attorneys.

They want the real dis-informers, we’re happy to oblige.
