So Obama put’s a squishy political hack in charge of DCI and everybody is surprised this wastrel conflates intelligence with political tom-foolery. Oh, the humanity and shock. The downright uneasy sensation one gets when realizing our country is standing naked in the path of a storm and not a stitch of clothing is within reach.

Actually Leon, I reject your premise; especially since your history as a political hireling is well known (soft-hand, intellectually derelict Republican’s, you can jump in any time and let us know how Leon got green-lighted for this job without a scratch). You smell the blood of American’s on the grass due to you and your parties’ political gymnastics which make us all less safe.

So now we get round II from the same people responsible for leaving our butts in the wind on September 11th. Now THERE is fodder for a truthy commission; perhaps we can put you and your old boss on the stand and ask what bimbos and national intelligence have to do with each other? Especially since you guys seem to have spent more time with the former and ignored the latter. Oh yes, I know. The truth is sometimes painful- but really refreshing and liberating.

and he is hoping he isn’t around when if does happen. This whole thing makes me wonder where we would be now if 9-11 had occurred during Clinton’s last year in office. Who could they have blamed? Or if Gore had won and 9-11 happened during his firsdt year. Would there even have been an Obama candidate? But now we are left with the facts from the diary above. We have moved from a pro-active national defense policy back to Clinton pre 911 status. As much as Panetta wants to engage in political snips, his comments force me to conclude that he has too much time or doesn’t understand his responsibilty at CIA. The perception I have is that he is nothing more than a political figure. A CIA director should probably be the most anonymous individual in a presidential cabinent and have very little to say publicly unless called on by the president or Congress. Well Mr. Panetta, how safe are we these days?
