Maine Open Seat (D)
A man whose job it is to help businesses come to Maine is the first Republican to announce he may run for governor.
48-year-old Matt Jacobson, the president and CEO of Maine & Company, has launched his exploratory committee for 2010. Jacobson said he’s interested in the governor’s job because the state needs someone who has experience bringing jobs to Maine. Michigan Concern
dld1717 (Diary) Saturday, February 28th at 6:01PM EST (link)I wish Cox and Lynn would not have a primary; one run for LT Gov or run fro Senate in 2 years
Mary Fallin would be a great governor.
St_Louis_Conservative (Diary) Saturday, February 28th at 2:29PM EST (link)She is one of the most conservative members of the House. I think she would certainly be a favorite to win in Oklahoma, a state that has gotten even more “red” in recent years. My only concern would be that we replace her House seat with a rep that is as conservative as she.
In Kansas, I’m hopeful that Tiahrt can win the primary over the more moderate Moran.
2010 has potential to be a very good year for Republicans, and this election will be crucial for many reasons, among them the ability to control redistricting the next year.
“…..women and minorities hardest hit”
Brady would have been better challanging Halvorson
Illinicon (Diary) Saturday, February 28th at 4:01PM EST (link)In the 11th district race. Cook has the district at R+1, so even with the backing of the Chicago political machine she will have a hard time in 2010 with the right GOP challanger. Brady is very popular in the Bloomington-Normal area and the GOP candidate needs to do well there and in Kankakee to help offset Joliet. As a Gubentorial candidate he suffers from low name ID statewide and being more conservative than the electorate.
