Some national polls show a close race but most still have Obama ahead 5-7 pts and he still maintains leads in many important states. Its the 11th hour now and its time McCain throw it all at Obama. The Clinton campaign supposedly had some info on Obama but decided against it cause it would tear party apart but why is McCain not really attacking Obama? Really what new stuff has he thrown at Obama minus tax angle?
Face it folks we need something to hit the fan and now against Obama. We do risk attacking Obama while his grandma is ill and worse case scenario passes away (I pray she does not) which would hurt us all the more but its really time McCain attack in a powerful way and stay on message doing so.
Please attack Obama McCain! This country cannot afford a Obama Presidency and I personally see no traction for us and we need it.

Attack on hot-button issues
Anteater (Diary) Saturday, October 25th at 2:27PM EST (link)McCain should attack Obama on gay marriage:
Latinos in Colorado, Florida, Nevada, and New Mexico would move back to McCain
Social conservatives in Iowa, North Carolina, Virginia would become more enthusiastic about McCain
African Americans would be less enthusiastic about Obama.

Mystery Pollster
Of course, those errors were apparently bigger and more consistent this year. According to an internal NEP report leaked to the New York Times, this year’s “surveys had the biggest partisan skew since at least 1988, the earliest election the report tracked.” However, in some states, the errors in 2000 were still quite large. Consider this comment from Joe Lenski to CNN on December 12, 2000 (p. 48 of pdf), describing the table also copied below:
The second group contains five states that had stupendously bad exit poll estimates. Here is a comparison of the final best survey estimate at poll closing with the final actual results for these five states… As you can see the exit polls in these five states were off by between 7 and 16(!!!) [Emphasis in original]

The point cannot be made often enough: Modern liberalism, as embodied in the Obama presidency, is the defender of the status quo. And the status quo is a road to economic ruin. Political forces cannot redistribute the wealth that the economic system does not produce.
McCain should've had a liberty message from the beginning.
Staunch_Libertarian (Diary) Saturday, October 25th at 2:35PM EST (link)I think it is futile to go negative now, because it will only be seen as desperate. This is why Ayers has gotten very little traction overall. If McCain had presented a real Federalist, small government, pro-liberty message in August and conducted a vigorous General Sherman campaign against Obama at the same time this thing would’ve already been over.

Actually, one of the more encouraging things that I see so far is the silence of the Huckster. I hope he goes back to Hope and writes books. I really hope we never see him on the Presidential campaign trail again. For any reason. At any time.
More Powerful Ads
dld1717 (Diary) Saturday, October 25th at 2:41PM EST (link)The McCain camp needs an ad similar to mushroom cloud ad using Biden’s words with scary scenes in background
You attack Obama as untested, you remind voters how he failed with Russia/Georgia conflict, you remind voters we face many enemies one of which he wants to sit down with, how he opposes missle defense shield, how he opposed labeling Iran terrorist group terrorist,
You hit, hit, hit!

Replace McCain with Bob Dole.
SeriousLaff (Diary) Saturday, October 25th at 10:34PM EST (link)Maybe they did and we just haven’t figured it out. McCain could use a liberty message, an economice message, an immigration message, a pro growth message or an “I love cheese pizza” message. SOMETHING.
ANYTHING is better than saying little or nothing in the debates or on the campaign trail. Dole did the same thing. Sit there and talk about your honorable campaign. Don’t fight back as they pound away at you every day.
I have said before, McCain will lose because he didn’t do much to win.
At least when Bob Dole did open his mouth, he was funny.
Do you SeriousLaff have a Dole obsession?
JadedByPolitics (Diary) Saturday, October 25th at 10:53PM EST (link)I note that a lot of your comments seek to tie McCain with Dole and if you watch McCain at ALL he is quite the opposite of the very dry and boring Dole…..perhaps it is the lens in which you are looking through!

Not as a person, the campaign
SeriousLaff (Diary) Saturday, October 25th at 11:33PM EST (link)He is not as dry as Dole. McCain could be a great campainger. He is too often campaigning like Dole, or HW Bush during reelection. McCain was better in the debates, but not much. I am tired of watching the Republican candidates for President allow Democrats to walk all over them and not fight back.
McCain is starting to fight but it is probably too late. He could have challenged Obama on so many things but didn’t.How about when Obama accuses McCain of “giving tax breaks to companies that shift jobs overseas”? The voters believe that. McCain said nothing. He could have said, “No, tax breaks to these companies exist becuase Democrats have insisted that the US have the highest corporate taxes in the world. Anyone who leaves pays less”. He could have also jumped on bama’s “Some of you may remember 911″ comment. Again, don’t just sit there and take it like HW Bush (reelection campaign) and Dole did. It didn’t work well for them.
I have seen McCain have a spark in him but he needed to get going weeks , if not months ago.

You're right, but
SeriousLaff (Diary) Sunday, October 26th at 12:05AM EST (link)Dole ran a lousy campaign.
I liked Bob Dole. Again, he didn’t fight back. Maybe hwe was afraid of coming across as mean. (That was what he was always accused of). It was a great way to shut him up and let Clinton run the election. Same now. McCain was afraid af appearing nasty, so he just let Obama say anything he wanted. No response to “Some of you remember 911″? He did try to mention the Sara Palin t-shirst at the debate but allowed Obama to quicky cut him off and change the subject.
Dole, like McCain come through great, at times. But the MSM isn’t going to let that through their filters very often. His Letteman appearance was close to the end or after the election.
Woody Allen used to say “Half of life is just showing up”. These guys show up, but that is not enough. Dole lost, and McCain will probably lose by default.
Come On Attack

They should be throwing everything at Obama now and just go for it. I believe they have nothing to lose at this point they are down and what they are saying and doing is not working
Fight! Attack Obama on anything and everything and go for it
Ayer's new book.....

I t was just on the news and I didn’t get the name but it is out there and it doesn’t seem to be the kid of book we want to read. The only thing is….if McCain uses it, OBAMA will gain. If anyone knows about the book let me know.
