Ok, I know that in the back of their minds, they think that they will be loved by all of humanity if they ram this healthcare bill through, but isn’t there anything front and center in their minds warning them that their political careers will be over if they do it?
Poll after poll shows that the majority of Americans do not want this monstrosity of a bill getting passed, but Nancy, Harry, and the President seem to be fine with ignoring that particular set of data. What they can’t ignore, however, is the fact that the 2010 mid-terms, and the 2012 national election are just over the horizon. Throw in their tanking job approval ratings, and it is not looking good for the Dems.
But hey, if they want to ram it through (with 51 votes), then who are we to stop them from hanging themselves out to dry?

As long as they remain in office, America is threatened
RedBeard Friday, March 5th at 9:13AM EST (link)They are indeed hanging themselves out to dry, but there’s still plenty of time for them to do terrible damage this country.
Even after leftists leave office, they still do their best to tear down the U.S. Need I even mention the name of Jimmy Carter?
Standard-bearer for grouchy curmudgeonry since, oh, 1975 or so.
One edition to the cartoon I would make:
throwback59 Friday, March 5th at 9:20AM EST (link)approx. 270 little dropplets of water falling to the ground representing the dems in congress who are about to be wrung out.
That's 'droplet's'

That's droplets
nancylee Friday, March 5th at 10:11AM EST (link)Michelle Malkin questions whether a bunch of new Republicans in Congress would have the guts to repeal this monstrosity. I have to say, I also have my doubts, but if the Dems *do* ram this thing through regardless, one hopes that 270 political careers are over. And then, hopefully, the American public will start pressuring the new Congress to get busy on their promise. The window of time to get rid of nationalized healthcare is short. Once the so-called benefits kick in it’s too late.
Repeal?
edintexas Friday, March 5th at 11:08AM EST (link)It would be refreshingly different for politicians of either party to actually repeal a law passed and enacted. How unpopular it might be with the public never seems material, they believe (actually for the majority that probably is know) the rubes have an attention span of about 15 seconds. Look at the hullabaloo which happened after the passage of a universal health care identification number back in the 90s, The public was outraged, since universal health care is the only real reason to have a universal ID. So did they repeal? Of course not, they simply pass a rider to the Health and Human Services appropriations bill each year preventing the Department from spending any money to implement the law. And thus it will only take failing to include the rider in the appropriation bill to allow the Department to start assigning each of us our “universal health care ID”.
So do I think the Repubs will repeal? They might, at least as long as they don’t have the numbers to actually override the veto which is assured. If they have sufficient control of both House and Senate to be able to override Dear Leader’s veto, then probably they won’t repeal. Just my $0.02 USD.
BTW it is either an addition, or possibly an edit, but it can’t be an edition.
Solve the problem of Democrats voting no on Obamacare and being called flip floppers
arthurmachado Friday, March 5th at 2:00PM EST (link)Obama is saying anyone who voted for healthcare in Novemeber and December is going to be lambasted by us (the GOP) no matter how they vote now. So here is my idea for a pledge:
From the RNC, RSCC, RCCC to House and Senate Democrats: The Republican Party believes Obamacare is a tragic mistake for the Country. We also believe defeating this bill is more important than any one political party and its defeat is the first step in moving our country to fiscal sanity. Therefore, we pledge to act as follows in the case of any Democrat who votes against Obamacare resutling in the defeat of the various Obamacare bills:
1. Prior to the 2010 elections we, the RNC, RSCC, and the RCCC, will not air any advertisement of any kind accusing any Democrat who voted for Obamacare in the past and votes against it now as flip flopping,
2. Prior to the 2010 elections we, the RNC, RSCC, and the RCCC will not air any negative advertisement of any kind related to a Democrat who votes against Obamacare now resulting in its defeat.
3. Prior to the 2010 elections we, the RNC, RSCC, and the RCCC, will request any candidate running against a Democrat refrain from criticizing a Democrat’s prior position on Obamacare for any Democrat who votes no on Obamacare resulting in its defeat.
4. In the event a Republican candidate chooses, prior to the 2010 elections, to ignore our request to refrain from criticizing a no voting Democrat we will provide to the Democratic candidate a donation equal to the costs of the critical advertisement to allow the Democrat candidate to purchase rebuttal advertisement or use the funds as he or she sees fit.
Signed,
Michael Steel
Mitch McConnell
anyone else they can get to sign it. Ideally, every single Republican house or senate candidate should sign here.
I like it
stigmo Friday, March 5th at 2:22PM EST (link)Unfortunately it assumes that the Party gives two cents about this bill’s passage or failure.
when i say critical advertisement I mean only oonly health care related ones
arthurmachado Friday, March 5th at 2:33PM EST (link)when i say critical advertisement I mean only oonly health care related ones not ones on other issues we can still criticize them on other issues
