So you’re a Taliban chief, or an Al Qaeda head, or a Hezbollah general, or a Hamas leader, or the President of Iran. You have the internets and keep tabs on the happenings with the President of the United States. You note this feeble and ridiculous ‘war’ against Fox News. A cable news network. A friggin’ cable news network. You note that the President of the United States not only labels a cable news network as some sort of enemy and picks a fight with them, but you note how absolutely awful and feeble is the President’s attempt to destroy? silence? change the behavior of? said cable news network. You see the other news networks–the ones being soundly beaten by the one under attack–actually take sides with the besieged network when the President gives an opportunity to join him and crush that network. You see all this happening.

Would you fear this POTUS? Would you fear that he has any ability to cobble a n international coalition together to fight you? Would you fear his resolve and focus?

From another perspective, imagine you’re a Western world leader. Or the Russian or Chinese leader who may, for reasons of base pragmatism, be open to joining a US-led push to crush one of the trouble makers du jour. Would you have any faith that the man who cannot crush a cable news network is a strong or committed enough leader for you to sign on?

I thought not, on both accounts.
