One of the things that people don’t seem to be grasping is that the “death panels” are not just a result of the end-of-life counseling that is in the bill. They are part and parcel of the entire system… They are pervasive in the inflexible comparative analysis boards that determine whether treatments are cost effective. They are present in the inherent delays in treatment that the entire bureaucracy will create. And they are certainly there in the form of rationing that is going to occur simply because doctors are simply going to stop practicing instead of having to deal with the government telling them how to treat their patients.
