BREAKING! Scozzafava quits race!


Well, well, well… it just got interesting! The right thing has finally occured. Scozzafava has read the tea leaves (finally!) and dropped out. This should have happened last week and I wonder if she waited to the very last moment to finally make the announcement.

Anywhoo, with her support base having completely collapsed (other than Newt – still weird), this was the right decision.

Conversations with an internal pollster for Obama…


Very enlightening indeed!

I have an interesting story to relay that took place earlier this week between my boss (a senior VP in the company I work for) and one of the Obama campaigns’ internal pollsters.

Just to note, my boss is a republican and was meeting the Obama rep over lunch for other reasons. Politics obviously came up due to his line of work.

He asked my boss what her political leanings were and they did some chit chat around the issues and the impressions each had on the state of the race. What happened next was more than fascinating and should be a reminder to all of us to buck up and remain strong. All is not lost. In fact, we may be in a much better spot than we think – despite the national polls and what the daily media drumbeat to give up.

Why Obama Lost the Election Last Night!


The underlying themes being ignored... by nearly everyone

I firmly believe Obama lost the election last night. Here’s why:

Obama was the one in need of the game changing moment, not McCain. In fact, I think everyone, but Karl Rove, seems to be viewing this debate in exactly the opposite way that it is actually playing out.

There are several underlying points that are as plain as day, but no one seems to be taking notice. But keep in mind an important thing. This debate wasn’t one that McCain needed to come out guns blazing. Not in this format. He needed to look the part of a steady hand, an understanding but firm leader, and someone that gets it. He did just that.
