Obama's book was published in 1995. "Fugitive Days" was published in 2001. Try again.

Is that Obama so admires his friend and mentor William Ayers, and was so influenced by his teachings that he used "Fugitive Days" as a model for his own book.

What no one wants to admit is what I think is rather obvious, and that is that they pretty much share the same worldview/ideology.

There are linguistic analyses that can establish without any doubt whether two documents were written by the same author.

When the Clinton-based novel "Primary Colors" was published by "Anonymous", it did not take long for an analyst to identify Joe Klein as the author. He fessed up shortly thereafter.

If Ayers did write an Obama memoir, that fact couldn't be concealed. So bring on the analysis.

For me it doesn't matter who really wrote Obama's memoir.

It's the content of that memoir that makes me vomit. With that memoir alone, Obama's key positions in life and politics are really Marxist.

The memoir also proved that he really came from the dirty alley of Chicago Democrat Politics.

Look, let's face it, our side isn't going to win this one. Do we really want to make ourselves look so nutty by pursuing something that will never be proven and will appear crackpottish?

it was/is well noted plagiarist Joe Biden that lifted the passages and put them in The-Little-O's (the-big-o is, of course, Oprah) book... lol

Or maybe he was just channeling Malcom-X? Stalin?? whom-ever....

He is just a parrot of Socialist-speak, he certainly doesn't think anything through for himself, just trys to reflect what the Leftists he wants to "pal around with" want to hear to ensure their continued support.

No doubt O is anxiously awaiting sitting down with his heroes Chavez, the Castro brothers, and other enemies of the US and Capitalism in general, without pre-condition. He wants to be next to his idols.

FYI, your man Barry WAS the reason the banks lent money to people that should not have been lent to. He directly participated in successfully suing Citi Bank and training ACORN thugs in the fine art of intimidation. So bye bye, you'll have to do better than that.

you started out fine -- your first paragraph actually addressed the purpose of the diary.

The rest of your three consecutive posts would be better posted on -- well, SAY one of the other diaries that are dealing with the mortgage crisis -- there are only something like 30 of them.

OH, and I appreciate you registered just to comment on this non-story. Must be totally unimportant...

We appreciate the suggestion.

On the miniscule chance that you are not a Moby, here is why you would be insane to sit out this election.

The Supreme Court.

If Obama wins, all of the things Social Conservatives care about will be lost for good.

"McCain says his plan, first proposed at Tuesday night’s presidential debate, will cost up to $300 billion, with the money coming out of the recently adopted $700-billion economic rescue plan. Obama says McCain’s plan is bad for taxpayers and benefits irresponsible financial institutions. "

So McCain was unclear - he is not asking for an additional $300 Billion. I doubt he could get it anyway.

I say not a dime should be paid to anyone until investigations of mortgage fraud are completed. If it takes 10 years then it will take 10 years.

Mortgage Fraud

http://stateoftheline.wordpress.com/2008/09/25/memoirgate-update-cashill-is-neither-a-literary-critic-nor-a-photoshop-expert/

Apparently there are people who actually investigate the merits of Jack Cashill's rants. Unfortunately, it's people like him that have sold our GOP down the river.

As a Republicanm what terrifies me is that by focusing on "character issues" we're not hearing any solutions to our problems.

The one thing I have heard, McCain's plan to order the Sec. of Treasury to buy up people's mortgages from banks at full-value (300 Billion More than the 700 billion?!) and then renegotiate the terms with homeowners, THINK ABOUT IT! It means one thing: The government will now own your house.

If that isn't the definition of Socialism, then I don't know what is.

At least when Obama wants the govt. to get involved inomething, it's things like healthcare, not owning my damned mortgage.

That isn't a solution! It gives OUR MONEY to banks who NEVER SHOULD HAVE LENT THE MONEY IN THE FIRST PLACE! It's destroying the very thing we Rebuplicans stand for! Individual Ownership Rights! You want Socialism for REAL?! Vote McCain Palin 08, and may random luck protect us because God sure as heckfire won't.

I may not know what Obama will do once in office, but I do know that McCain will make the Federal Government the biggest owner of private property in the country...and make us pay for it!

What happened to the McCain of 2000? I liked that guy! Wish he was running instead of Bush's fake-Republican election team. Bush wasn't a Republican either. He just spent our children's future and my retirement on bombs and tax breaks for his buddies in Oil and Defense Contracting.

It looks like the same folks that got to Bush, got to McCain.

We need A REAL REPUBLICAN RUNNING!! Until I see one, I'm staying home on election day. These fakers don't deserve my vote, and they don't deserve yours!

If we make our voices heard by NOT voting, the GOP will have to listen to us or they'll never be back in power. Make them pay for their abandonment of our principles. It's the only thing they understand.

Apparently there are people who actually investigate the merits of Jack Cashill’s rants. Unfortunately, it’s people like him that have sold our GOP down the river.

As a Republicanm what terrifies me is that by focusing on “character issues” we’re not hearing any solutions to our problems.

The one thing I have heard, McCain’s plan to order the Sec. of Treasury to buy up people’s mortgages from banks at full-value (300 Billion More than the 700 billion?!) and then renegotiate the terms with homeowners, THINK ABOUT IT! It means one thing: The government will now own your house.

If that isn’t the definition of Socialism, then I don’t know what is.

At least when Obama wants the govt. to get involved inomething, it’s things like healthcare, not owning my damned mortgage.

That isn’t a solution! It gives OUR MONEY to banks who NEVER SHOULD HAVE LENT THE MONEY IN THE FIRST PLACE! It’s destroying the very thing we Rebuplicans stand for! Individual Ownership Rights! You want Socialism for REAL?! Vote McCain Palin 08, and may random luck protect us because God sure as heckfire won’t.

I may not know what Obama will do once in office, but I do know that McCain will make the Federal Government the biggest owner of private property in the country…and make us pay for it!

A number of people on this thread have assumed that it is suspicious that Obama had not had some sort of written trail prior to becoming the President of the law review (see, e.g., Putter above: "It is highly suspicious that we have not one single writing sample from the editor of the Harvard Law Review. You have to pen several good pieces to become a law review underling at a high profile school.")

Putter's statement above is simply not true. I was an editor of the HLS law review - one tries out for the law review after your first year in law school. Virtually no one that is on the law review is published (at least in law journals) prior to joining the Harvard law review, or any law review. Once you are a member (at least of the Harvard law review), you have the opportunity to write an unsigned law review piece called a case comment, which is something Obama did and has been unearthed; indeed that piece was noted in Cashill's article. But that is all that most law review editors would write - it is simply not the case that you would pen several pieces before becoming a law review editor.

Also one quick thought on the idea that Dreams from My Father was written at a 12th grade level and Audacity at Hope at a 9th grade level. I have no doubt that the assigned grade levels are accurate, but the intended audiences are completely different. Dreams from My Father is an autibiography grappling with some serious issues of identity. Audacity of Hope is a political book, completely dumbed down and is your standard book written by politicians running for office. One book is intended to be literary, the other to be persuasive. If Obama wrote a children's book, I am sure the number of words per sentence and his sentence structure would again be tailored to his audience.

This is really interesting to me, especially. I've been writing my autobiography for my kids and my daughter has been editing it for me. She told me that there were things she would change but she felt that by doing that she would be changing my "voice." She said I wrote just like I talked and it was important to her that that not be changed.

I apologize for taking this totally off topic but your post had an impact on me.

I agree completely that a person's voice comes through her/his written words.
