The truth is that the Republican Party and the Conservative Movement need to take a lesson from the military. In a boot camp/Beast Barracks type environment a new recruit or Pleb is torn down and rebuilt in the image of the corp. To be a team player. To be mission oriented. To push emotion out and rely on thought. As is evidenced by many of the comments on this board, most have no concept of this sort of rebuilding process. Many in the ” conservative punditshpere” have never been in a formation, made a left face instead of a right resulting in a Drill Sergeant screaming at the top of his/her lungs – 1″ from your face. And then dropping you for 20 push-ups. So, naturally all they know how to do is react with lame comments. DD

many of us would be further in the valley than we already are. We don’t need Rush to be a “politician”-we have plenty of those, we need Rush and others like him, to be engaged with the MSM. Our elections have not been about beating the other party; they have been about beating the Dems and the MSM. To me, the MSM is the greater enemy.

Listening to Rush gives me information, helps with perspective, and fights the drumbeat of “hopelessness” the MSM presents 24/7.

His CPAC presentation was fantastic. Entertaining and informative. There was plenty of direction one could take away from his talk.

Because of Redstate, we learned about the CPAC conference, streamed it from the internet and heard numerous outstanding speeches. It was great to hear from and see great conservative voices. Many that we did not know about.-I hope to be able to hear Niger Innis’s speech again.

Should be that way. “But” the GOP Hierarchy has it totally backwards. They’ve forgotten that they are in office at the pleasure of the Voting Conservative Base. And what they don’t seem to understand is that the Base is punishing them now for stepping out of line. In fact they’ve fired them. Now, make no mistake, there are more than sufficient Conservative Votes to “re-hire” them in 2010 if the GOP gets its act together. But that is not happening. NOT HAPPENING!!
And RP, this brazen arrogance of the GOP Hierarchy is the biggest hurdle the GOP/Conservative Movement has today. Nothing can be done about the msm. They are what they are. But we can get our own dysfunctional GOP house in order if we have the will. DD
