I’d chide the dear writer for using an incident that resulted in great loss of life for a political purpose, but then I realized that if Obamacare passes, it will result in great loss of life. Between the inevitable rationing of care and the massive disincentives it will create for medical care innovators, Obamacare at Y+20 will have killed more people than all American wars combined.

But I am simply not confident. I can’t help but think they’re going to force this thing down the throat of the American people. It might not be everything Obama wants, and they might have to water it down, but they’re going to force that camel’s nose under the tent.

Ried still has our crap weasels to turn to yet…There is Snowe and Collins…and I have this creeping unease about Voinovich…we haven’t heard from him in a while and I can’t help but believe he’s just waiting for his moment in the sun since he’s stepping down this year and I just know he’s going to pull something soon to create a historic foot note for himself.

unfortunately, it’s not clear just who are the passengers: the Democratic congressional leadership or the American people.

In either case, it’s not an exactly sterling accomplishment on the part of the crew – Obama and his gang.

I still don’t know what “ObamaCare” is… but here’s what I gather, and maybe a more knowledgeable libertarian out there can help me understand this.

The left is proposing a plan that favors prescription drug companies and hurts insurance providers, but with the belief this will also help consumers.

The right seems to be focused on the public option part which harms the insurance carriers, with the belief that they’re helping consumers.

Now, I don’t trust any politician… and I’m sure the left are pushing their plan because they’re funded by the drug lobby and the right is shooting it down because they funded by the insurance lobby. Now I have no proof, b/c if it were available it would be all over the internet… is there any politician, dem or rep that’s standing up to this pandering?

I remember reading reports about how during the debates both sides have basically been reading talking points, prepared not by congressional staffers but by the opposing lobbies. this doesn’t surprise me, it just makes me lose more trust in a system that is basically bankrupt of trust. Is there anyone in congress that’s exposing this show for what it is? (i.e. calling out both sides for being horribly corrupt)

Also, why is it called ObamaCare? I thought Obama made an interesting political move by starting out his term saying that he wasn’t going to draft a policy for the congress to decide on, rather he wanted them to work together to come up with a policy… the 2 bills before both houses were not drafted by the executive branch, but rather the independent houses of congress… so why are we calling it ObamaCare?

also, since it’s happened before, i’m not some liberal troll… i hate vegetarian, pot-smoking, hippies that make up global temperature data and love the smell of their own farts while they dutch-oven their Prius. I think the green industry is a sham to exploit the uninformed masses (i’m talking about Whole Foods and the exploiters behind cap and trade)… so go ahead and call me a liberal for asking questions that i’m surprised more libertarians aren’t asking… if this isn’t the forum for libertarians then what is?
