What a great diary!!!

You know, if our media had any interest in making money, they could sell newspapers if they were willing to come out with the story behind the story like this.

I'll bet even most Americans who cared enough to find out who Deep Throat was didn't connect the dots to discover that our FBI was involved in espionage against our President.

Bush committed, absolutely fatal, non-recoverable errors in this regard. NTMA should become a *forever* Republican mantra.

NTMA = 'New Tone My A$$'.

Even the ones that supported you, even the ones you like. Make them sit home for a pay period and kiss the ring if you want them to keep working for you, but make them understand they work for you and you can fix that situation anytime you like.

That said, there are good reasons to never keep any appointee of the other Party or even of a primary opponent. That applies even to seemingly innocuous subject matter specialst appointees like scientists or budget and finance people if they were appointed by Democrats. A Democrat will NEVER appoint anyone to a position unless that person has demonstrated that they won't let little things like facts, rules, laws, and the like get in the way of Administration objectives. People who work through that stuff all too often become a lot like SS Captains; they'll execute any order with ruthless precision and without the slightest thought for whether it should have been executed. Since Republican appointees and officeholders usually come from outside government, you need reliable advice from these subject matter experts; you won't get reliable advice from the kind of automaton that can stay in an appointed position for multiple administrations of different parties.
