One thing that is neat about this is that is demonstrates, once again, how great a President Ronald Wilson Reagan was.

It was sad how... during the primary, when Senator Obama cited Reagan as an example of change, he was criticized, and modified his remarks.

It is refreshing how he is positively citing President Reagan again, trying to compare himself to the Gipper.

I remember when President George Herbert Walker Bush, when running for re-election, compared himself to Harry Truman. I think that Clinton did as well, and I remember the media reporting how everyone was "wild about Harry".

Considering how the neoconservative movement has invaded our party, to such a large extent, sentiments like that would seem even more common, today. Don't be surprised if our GOP leaders start citing FDR, Truman, and JFK (and perhaps even Bill Clinton!!) as positive examples... Actually, they have already been doing this, all-too-often.

However, it is great to see that the Gipper is, even after his passing, being regarded well, even by those on the other side.

He was truly the greatest president of our time.

And an interesting note: Reagan actually had (gasp) executive experience, and knew how to handle and lead during crises, unlike this typical Chicago politician that they're trying to compare to Reagan.

Weird, that they think such a production will convince undecideds that Obama is like Reagan.

Wouldn't except anything less from the group that thinks history began in 2000 and that passion is more important than policy.

Pretty clear they have never read or know the biography of Reagan--let them continue to think all Americans are similarly ignorant.

I see it as more of a "whistling past the graveyard" or "preaching to the choir."

Tells me there is pure panic on their side. Wouldn't need to hitch your wagon to the greatest star in recent history otherwise.

Obama's penchant for taking credit for things he didn't do or was barely involved in, I'd say it's a forgone conclusion.
It's kind of sad, sort of, but Obama's not going to have any "friends" left after this election. If he loses, he'll be kryptonite; and if he wins, the only people that will want to be around him are those lusting after power. Those are usually hollow relationships.

Dan, absolutely well done. We need to highlight just how much "Change and Hope" really means nothing more join the cult of personality of Obama.

It's ironic that their own ad highlights his presumptuousness; the Obama camp wants to take the mantle of Reagan greatness, BEFORE their guy even accomplishes anything...including actually winning his party's nomination. The Audacity of Hope indeed....

The lefties' knock on Reagan was that he was an "amiable dunce" whose success was the product of slick packaging and marketing rather than any political skill.

Well, I guess Obama is more like Reagan than they'd like to admit, eh?

in a book by his Executive Assistant Jim Kuhn, he notes that Reagan had a plaque on his desk that said "There's no limit to how far one can go if they don't mind who gets the credit."

I can't imagine such thinking going through Barack Obama's head, ever.

It quite frankly isn't clear that Carter had substantially more experience than Reagan. Reagan was a two-term Governor. Carter was a one-term Governor, and had served one term as President at the time of the election.

Stupid facts.

The lefties feel Jimmy Carter was the greatest president since Roosevelt, and they compare him with the man they say should NOT be president.

And they think Reagan was the biggest dufus to hold the office until Dubya, and they compare their hero to him.

Go figure.

The Dems should focus on Obama as fulfillment of King's Dream. That's the way people want to see him, anyway. Selling him as Reagan doesn't please anyone: the people who loved Reagan won't buy Obama, and the people who hate(d) Reagan don't want another one. He's not just a metaphor for 'game-changing politician', but of a conservative one, and many people can't abstract it properly.
