It looks like Doug Hoffman in New York’s District 23 is peaking at just the right time, surging into the lead in at least one poll in the past 48 hours. And Sarah Palin—showing more of the political genius that will propel her to continuing national conservative leadership—waited until just the right tactical moment to endorse Hoffman and help propel him to victory (not unlike Colin Powell when he stabbed all Republicans in the back and endorsed Barack Obama for President at just the moment to do maximum damage to McCain and Palin).
But it’s important to remember, the Hoffman race is merely a warmup, a flexing of our newly awakened conservative majority, preparatory to taking down a far bigger RINO who is just as pernicious in his own way as Scozzafava. I speak, of course, about Florida’s Gov. Charlie Crist, who supported TARP, regularly vetoes bills that reduce spending, and campaigns with Obama in Florida. Against him stands Marco Rubio, a 38-year-old first generation American whose parents escaped from the murderous dictatorship of Fidel Castro. After Hoffman wins his election in 6 days, we must then turn our attention and resources to helping Rubio, who causes me to say “Damn, this guy is good!”
