When asked by judge Perez Hilton, an openly gay gossip blogger, whether she believed in gay marriage, Miss California, Carrie Prejean, said “We live in a land where you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite. And you know what, I think in my country, in my family, I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anybody out there, but that’s how I was raised.”
Keith Lewis, who runs the Miss California competition, tells FOXNews.com that he was “saddened” by Prejean’s statement.
What would gay marriage advocates think in the absence of the Internal Revenue Service tax code, and other government sponsored social engineering schemes, that bestow entitlements on the institution of marriage? If marriage were strictly a religious ceremony and institution would Mr. Lewis be as saddened and would Miss Prejean’s answer be as controversial? Would voices on either side of the argument be as passionate?

The pageant committee should be ashamed that 1) they let such a hateful, venom-spewing gossip be on their panel and 2) that they allowed such a controversial question to be delivered by a gay judge. It’s so obviously asking for a scandal, that I’m wondering if they did it on purpose.

Was it coherent, not so much, but was it a tough question for someone who does not believe in it, you betcha. Did it cross her mind that if she answered it truthfully she would lose? Yes. Do I commend her for going with her conviction? sure do. Now, what about the act of the judge, disgraceful! That is the point. Tick, Tock, Tick, Tock… time appears short if your name is snark.
