For years now, most of the state's Republican primary voters haven't got a clue who they are voting for, and none pay attention to what happens at the state legislature. It's a popularity contest. Unfortunately, I see no reason why that will not change in the governor's primary for the benefit of Kay Barely Republican. Between the short infrequent sessions and the insurmountable procedural hurdles, it's hard enough to pass anything in this state with a decent house speaker. I don't look for one piece of noteworthy conservative legislation to make it to the governor's desk this year.
