The Internal Revenue Service announced today that, under the direction of the Obama Administration, beginning in 2010 filing your income tax return will be dramatically simplified. Gone will be all the confusing schedules, work sheets and 100-page instruction books. They will be replaced by a single form, Schedule O, with only two lines to fill out. The first line reads: How much did you earn in [2010]? The second line reads: Send it in.
The IRS, hoping to improve its image, also unveiled its new public relations campaign centering on its new motto, “From each according to his abilities to each according to his needs”.
Thanks to the personal benevolence of President Obama, all individual needs will be assessed and met out of the revenues collected to insure parity in the name of fairness.

Actually the new simplied tax form contains three lines
civil truth (Diary) Friday, November 13th at 5:19PM EST (link)Line 1: How much did you make last year?
Line 2: Multiple by 1.5 (tentative, final multiplier still to be determined)
Line 3: Tax Due (equals line 2)
Mail tax due to the DNC, in cash, small unmarked bills only.
No receipts will be provided, but if you don’t send your voluntary tax donation, you will receive early AM visitors.
And even if you do dutifully comply, there’s still no guarantee that you won’t receive visitors. It all depends on the contents of your dossier.
The greatest evil…is conceived and ordered (moved, seconded, carried, and minuted) in clean, carpeted, warmed, and well-lighted offices, by quiet men with white collars and cut fingernails and smooth-shaven cheeks who do not need to raise their voice. Hence, naturally enough, my symbol for Hell is something like the bureaucracy of a police state or the offices of a thoroughly nasty business concern. -C.S. Lewis

Personally, I'm quite pleased
aesthete (Diary) Friday, November 13th at 10:29PM EST (link)with the innovative idea to send tax debtors to “work camps” to work off their taxes owed.

we are all slaves
LISA BULLOCK-HOCK (Diary) Friday, November 13th at 11:11PM EST (link)Instead of keeping us in chains literally–they want us in the chains of debt and fear of the government. The more they take, the more they can control us. We are all slaves to the “common good” as liberals say, but mostly everything I read in the Constitution speaks of the individual. It does not say the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness at tax payers expense if you don’t believe in work. We won’t let you go without–society will take care of you. There are only three groups of people society should care for: elderly, disabled, and veterans. Not people who just have no ambition.
Some of us will get directly taxed (if that health care bill goes through — “rich” folks will be paying 45% to the fed, Castro would be so proud) –others will get indirect taxes–cap in trade, higher cost of goods and services, ect…The rich elite at the end of the day will still be rich because they pass everything off to the working folks, err–us slaves will be even poorer when it is all said and done. The tax and spend liberals want to keep us in our place and forever in servitude. If more people depend on the government, then more people are under control. It is just that simple.
How about applying common sense to simplicity–don’t spend more than you have. Don’t let unions legally extort companies for benefits and aren’t sustainable and will ultimately drive a manufacturer to close or move all of our good jobs overseas (the past 30+ years this has been happening). How about lowering taxes on businesses so they will stay here? How about not raiding social security and medicare — which is suppose to sit in escrow and gain interest –to pay people to sit at home on welfare, or the other stupid things they spend our tax dollars on–Cash for Clunkers, Wall Street bailouts, sending some music scholars to Europe for 6 months to study Bach and Mozart. I work and pay taxes–where is my Europe vacation on the tax payer dime?
Oh yeah…this is government, they don’t have common sense in Washington. I think this is a disease we should come up with a name for…….. I got it!!!! STUPIDITY, DISHONESTY, GREED, ELITISM ECT…ECT…ECT…
Cut, Cap, and Balance–Imagine that, living within your means. What a concept
