2010 – Back to Sanity! Conservative Candidates Belong to ALL of US!

Here’s the movement name- “Back to Sanity!” – Winning back the House and Senate in 2010

I need your help with basic info to get this going.

Here’s the simple idea -

  • Build a list of the top 100 Congressional and Senate Races that are crucial to winning a majority in both the Senate and the house in 2010.
  • List them in descending order of power (like Boxer, Specter, Dodd, DeMint..).
  • Then just like paying off personal Debt – Start at the top of the list, supporting either the opponent or the incumbent – $50 to number one, $48 to number 2, etc down to $32 at number 10, then $2 to every other candidate.
  • I will compile an Excel sheet that I will post on line with all of their pertinent info and donations amounts. That way you can check off each on as you are able to help.
  • If we each did that it would equal (someone check my math) a total of $590 over a one year period. That is not a huge price to pay for our FREEDOM!.

And, of course, I would urge you to give above that to candidates from your own state.

BUT if we only give to people from our state and hope that all those other candidates will have enough to fight, we will lose.

We must all support these crucial battles for power together and next month is already starting to be too late. This is July 2009. We have an election in 16 months that will make or break this nation we love. You can help us to victory. If you want to give overall to the RNC or IPA or whatever party, that’s fine. But these candidates need to hear our voices and our wallets LOUD and CLEAR!

PLEASE LEAVE A SHORT COMMENT LISTING Candidates that you know of that are either fighting a powerful liberal or moderate incumbent, or that are actual conservatives like DeMint and Boehener (he’s finally stepping up!) that need our support to stay in office.

*** Data needed – Name, office they are running for, State, District (for House), opponent. If you already know the donation site for the candidate – list that***.

Please check to be sure they are actually up for reelection before listing them. In the Senate, only those that are in Class III are up in 2010 – but there are powerful battles to be fought in that group!

This needs to stay completely grassroots, increasing the numbers and demographics of their supporters daily. I know there are lots of pundit built sites. We need to do this ourselves!

to list my first three recommendations:

Marco Rubio who is fighting an uphill battle against Gov. Charlie Crist to fill the US Senate seat (FL) that will be vacated by retiring Senator Mel Martinez (R) in 2010. Martinez is very moderate and Charlie Crist is one more of the same.

Eddie Adams running for US Congress against Democrat Kathy Castor in District 11 here in Florida. It is one of the larger districts in Florida (most of Tampa) and Kathy Castor comes from old political roots here in FL. Eddie is a conservative African-American. conteach- Great Idea

Right now in Virginia the focus is all on getting McDonnell elected Governor this year, as well as Bill Bolling for Lt. Governor, and Ken Cucinelli for Atty. General. After that election in November, I’m sure the focus will turn to the 2010 Senate and House races. As of now, we have 2 Democrat Senators, Mark Warner and Jim Webb. Warner was just reelected, but, I think Webb is up in 2010. So far I have not heard of anyone running against him. The Dem money machine right now is all going to Deeds who is running against McDonnell. Not surprising, Deeds highest contributors have mostly come from out of state, and the DNC will pour every dollar they have in defeating McDonnell. Our current part-time Governor Tim Kaine is the new DNC head honcho.

I suspect that your project may take awhile, as we don’t yet know who will step forward to challenge the Libs in many many races. If Obama and the Libs keep pushing for “insanity” in every piece of legislation they are coming up with, and Obama’s poll numbers keep diving, I think many of the good candidates will begin believing they actually do have a chance, and will be more willing to put themselves through God Awful campaigning. We all know politics ain’t pretty or fun, and it takes a heck of a strong person both mentally and physically, that is willing to put themselves through the rigors of campaigning. I am confident that the Republican Party can take the majority back from the ultra liberals, however, I just hope it isn’t by electing more Specters or McCain’s. I really like your idea of listing some info on what we have to choose from, then it is up to the voter to fully vet those they are willing to open their wallets for.

Your enthusiasm is infectious, please stay with it.

Any project takes a while to build

I appreciate your support. I will definitely Tweet about your gubernatorial race. My hope is to at least get some people thinking outside their states to a “we are in this together” mentality. Because that is how the other side thinks. Yeah we are stuck here in FL wth one life time Democratic Senator Bill Nelson who pretty much votes party line and then Martinez (R) who is retiring and just doesn’t care and will be voting for Sotomayor.

    BET Founder backs GOP McDonell!

Did you see this? BET Founder, a Democrat, backs GOP Bob McDonnell for VA Governor:

She says McDonnell will be better for jobs and the economy than Dem candidate Creigh Deeds.

conteach- I heard that on local radio

Thank you for linking the article. The only thing I would have preferred would be to not have made so many skin color comments. One of the comments caught my eye- She is backing the person who can do the best job. I also agree with another- Mrs. Johnson is tiring of Obamanomics, even though she voted for him. Things are really looking up for the Republicans, and it is going to start in Virginia in November 2009. Yipeeee!

The article mentioned another Democrat who has not yet backed Deeds. The person was the author of the one gun a month law, and Deeds was against it. Sadly I know McDonnell was for it. That is the only reason why a very active Campaign for Liberty Group (Ron Paul Libertarians) have come out against McDonnell. Talk about having to have only the perfect candidate.

I know – it’s crazy when a candidate has to be so much to so many interest groups. My only thought is that they should just be themselves. Know what they believe and what they want to accomplish and stick to it.

You really need to proof-read your HTML..

before you ‘transfer’ all your diaries over here

What piece are you finding the problem in?

conteach (Diary) Tuesday, July 21st at 11:52AM EST (link)

I will be glad to fix whatever the problem is. I watch the tracking list and am NOT as you say pushing everyone down the list (maybe for a short bit on the first day I posted)

I really am starting to feel harassed. I came here wanting to join a group of like-minded activists, and every time I post now you have to respond. This was not a transferred column and I see no “loose html” in it.

    Please be specific.

The HTML actually seemed correct though.

It just had some superfluous empty elements that apparently were tripping up some browsers.
