Is telling the truth and respecting the intelligence of your audience a disqualifier for the Democrat presidential nomination?
And where the hell was CBS news between 1993 and 2001? They could have run one of these every night.

"I believe we must adjourn this meeting to some other place." - The last recorded words of Adam Smith.
ole Wes. I had to look him up on Google. Wasn't he mentioned in Stolen Valor?
Funny thing about these wannabes is that many of them DID serve, only they did not see their service as being heroic enough.
"once upon a time." A war story or sea story begins with, "and this is no s**t." Some of any of those might be true or might have happened to someone; odds are not to the teller though.
In Vino Veritas
One can only hope Mrs. Clinton gets raked over the coals for this egregious stupidity. You're absolutely right, this is equivalent to John Kerry's Cambodian adventure, and should be exposed for what it is, a flat-out lie. Moreover, Clinton is trying, as her husband did, to give herself credit for military-like experience, as if flying in a fortified C-17 qualifies as military combat; next thing she'll suggest is that she deserves combat ribbons for the effort. Politicians have always tried to exaggerate their record, particularly with military service; it's a disgraceful act and should be strongly denounced. Mrs. Clinton has crossed that line and it should be treated as such.
Sigh. Embarrassing.
And of course the obvious reply is, if that had been a Republican ...
IMPEACH!!!!
Instead it's "a reminder that in politics memory should aways match the video tape."
CBS needs a phrase thesaurus ... the word they were looking for was LIE.
absentee
tv reader had a clue.
1) have you ever been under sniper fire?
2) don't you think you would have remembered if you had?
so I guess you can not misspeak about something that you would have never experienced and would have remembered if you had?

Hillary was probably tired and confused from answering all those 3:00 AM phone calls and those endless NSA meetings.

I mean, there were a lot of people here opposed to JMcC, but look at these two goofs the D's have running!..
How the heck did she go forward with this crap?...Like there was no one around that saw what really happened? Not getting good advise, or just really, really stoopid.
" Got to love the Lord for making things like that."
Morally Compromised
If I say it, then it's so. One only hopes John McCain's ad people are running the string on their "experience" ads, they can't say they don't have the ammo.
Ann Coulter isn't still running around saying she's going to vote for her, is she?! ;-)
(Serious question actually, I've tuned her out lately)
I have no clue why Clinton is still running anyway. She has no chance unless Obama mysteriously commits suicide within the next several weeks, and she's only destroying her party. I just don't get it.
I think Obama has been committing suicide in slow motion for the past couple of weeks. But sawing at your own throat with a butter knife is a really inefficient way to go about it.
"A man does what he can and endures what he must."
Besides, he's on vacation, and who could blame him for it? The last two weeks he had, the alternative was for him to snap on national television and start swearing - or worse, start smoking* in public.
That's OK. We can wait. We've got Hillary to bat around in the meantime.

I reviewed a lot of posts this week. Spent some time cheering on the Memphis team and Tenn Vols woment and men, to victory. Then came up with this post/thread for your consideration..There are a LOT of issues herein to parse, discuss and cuss.
Here goes.
THE WAYS AND MEANS TO THE WHITE HOUSE
Monday, March 24, 2008
1. Obama has these hurdles to overcome, even prior to the General Election.
A. His controversy with the Pastor Wright. He would like this event to just disappear, but not likely to happen.
B. The Rizeko Chicago trial. This is waiting in the wings.
C. The speech Barack gave re: to his association with Pastor Wright. This has and will engender a controversy of White electorate vs. Black electorate and all the deep seated ramifications therein.
2. Hillary has these hurdles to overcome, even prior to the General Election.
A. Her claim of experience will be called into doubt. Her release of the 1992- and on schedules prejudice this claim.
B. The general lack of trust. Her long time record and association with all the Clinton episodes preclude almost anybody trusting her.
C. The actual losses, and recoveries, in one sense will hurt her, as well as help her. A mixed blessing.
The Michigan/Florida controversy hangs over both campaign headquarters. A Damocles sword due to fall during the convention. A negative for both.
The absolute truth that is staring the Dems in the face is the need for a pragmatic decision. This will be a back room affair of necessity. The problem is how to cover it up and succeed. Elements are to” Prioritize, select an elect able candidate, protect the party and the individuals concerned and finally, try not to hurt the USA electorate too much“.
In order for Obama to win:
A. He must win or at least not lose by a sellable margin, all the remaining primaries, caucus, etc
B. He must become the UNITY candidate, restore the lost sheen on his campaign,
C. He must NOT make anymore missteps.
D. He must work the Super Delegates with a passion and dedication.
In order for Hillary to win:
A. She must win, in large percentages, all the remaining primaries, caucus, etc.
B. She must win with large margins in the electorate that has voted for Obama.
C. She must make no missteps.
D. She must use, with Bill, the debts owed by the Super Delegates to her favor.
Obamas argument for selection at the convention
A. His actual delegate, and uncontested, count
B. His actual won electorate votes.
C. His rhetoric.
D. His support from the Left, visible, vocal and loud.
Hillary’s argument for selection at the convention
A. Her wins of Electoral states, vs. the GOP win of those states.
B. Her record of achievement in the Senate.
C. Her record of achievement in the White House tenure and before.
D. Her actual delegate count and popular vote count.
E. Her demonstrated ability to recover and win.
F. Her hard core issues vs. Obamas speculative Change message.
The dems must avoid, at all cost, a continuing play on making this election a class war. This may be the core deciding ploy. The Dems continual use of playing one class off on the other has worked for 40 + years. This year, if the Dems are to win, they must come clean with the electorate and put aside this modus operandi.
Obamas elect able argument at Back Room Convention.
A. Negative. Black and Has Mrs. O.
B. Negative. A controversial candidate.
C. Negative. A blatant leftist and has the vocal left support.
D. Positive, Young, Charismatic, and has LOTS of money support from the PACs.
Hillarys elect able argument at Back Room Convention.
A. Negative. Not trustworthy.
B. Negative. A feminist.
C. Negative. Her past pre White House record.
D. Positive. A strong woman figure.
E. Positive. Her record of winning against all odds.
F. Positive. Her DN Party debt and credit account.
All of these elements will terminate in a 2008 Convention that will be a 1968 circus in triplicate. The Back Room Convention my be held prior to avoid this.
The Winner will be Hillary, and the DN Party with the aid of the Dems in the Senate and others, will con the US public into believing it was honest, fair and the best for the Country.
The left will be outraged, the Black community will be disappointed, and the Blue collar folks will see right thru the charade and that will bring the dems to a circle firing squad level.
Ending with Hillary Probably losing the General Election and McCain assuming the mantle.

Was my daughter's reaction when I showed her this video. The Clinton campaign is truly the home of the whopper.

soli Deo gloria
At least she TRIED to tell the truth, but then she blew it at the end. She started off by declaiming: "I remember landing under sniper fire..."
Which declamation would have gotten her off the hook and made the story "truthful" as a matter of false memory (and also made her a victim of False Memory Syndrome) if she hadn't also said "...now that is what happened" so unequivocally at the end there.
See, it crucially depends on what the meaning of the word "is" is. Hillary learned that from Bill, but she messed it up. I always said that her compartmentalization isn't as complete as Bill's. Her bulkheads leak.
It was seared, seared into her memory!!

Col. Hunt made a good point on O'Reilly. Hunt was there coordinating operations for the visit. Hillary's blatant lie is not only despicable for the lie but also a major slap in the face for all the military sacrificing their lives in Bosnia to make sure her visit was a safe one. And she crapped all over them.

Typical lie from a "lying liar".
What Mrs. Clinton fails to realize is that her story is a slap in the face to those who served in Bosnia at that time.
Phony Vietnam veterans abound these days. It appears that the wannabe syndrome has overlapped to include Bosnia.
