As Reagan said (with a twist) "I didn't leave the republican party, the republican party left me!"
I am a conservative Constitutionalist, I do not believe in "Win at any cost." That is NOT the Godly, nor the way a man of Character believes nor talks. Huckabee is NOT a man of character, he proved it when he denounced Sarah Palin for Supporting the RIGHT person in NY 23 and NOT the pro-abortion, pro-health care destroyer republican that ran left of the Democrat and then endorsed the democrat. The same is true of the sick wife skipper Newt Gingrich.
Then we find out the Republican RNC had insurance that covered abortion. There are just as many republicans that are either indicted or are under investigation for ethics violations as there are democrats. Rush Limbaugh keeps telling us to change the republican party from within, well I think 16 years is long enough. I will not support the party line, I will vote principle, even if in the short term I lose, I know eternally, God is on the side of the small and few who do the right thing for the right reason, not the ones who do the wrong thing for the supposed right reason.
Let me ask you a simple question. How long have the republicans been asking for your vote to end abortion? Has voting for them done that? Again, they even had abortion coverage in the RNC Health insurance coverage. Has anything they promised come to pass? When they were in charge did spending go up or down? Did government shrink or did it grow? Did they reign in the Liberal Department of Education and teachers unions or did they increase their funding and power?
Here is a good one, they say they are for free enterprise and competition, yet under their watch the oil companies bought up the independents and energy prices skyrocketed due to NO competition.

As a state delegate this year, it was obvious to me at the convention that the conservatives were in control.

Thanks a million for your work on the precinct man project. I was wondering if you could help me with Baltimore County, Md. After doing research I only see county central committees with about a dozen committeemen. From what you are describing it appears that precinct man is a separate position as there are many more of them per county. What is the difference between a central committeeman and a precinct man? Do you know anything about the system in Maryland. You can email me at deh0414@verizon.net.

I was unaware of the conservative success story there. Thanks for letting us know -- that sound really, really great! Could you write a short diary on it for the benefit of the rest of us here? Or post some links if you have them to any news stories about it.

Thank you!

I grew up there but after learning how to suffer the summers in the deep south I only go back to visit every several years. It is invariably during deer season and I get my fill of the sub-arctic winters then. Brrrr! Besides, I can ride my harley year around here without putting chains on the wheels.

My parents just moved to South Dakota, Dad claims a portion of it was Sen Smalley but the main reason was resident rates for hunting licenses.

For someone who remembers the "Dump Spannaus, vote for Somebody Else" campaign in the 80s its heartening to hear that the rural conservative American citizens of the sub-arctic are being heard again.

And my congratulations to CW as well! I was on the verge of supporting a third party when I came here and CW showed me the way, I'm thrilled to know it's working!

Thank you Cold Warrior!

Sen. Buffoon Smalley's frozen tundra. Not sure it was as organized and intentionalized as Nevada but the MN state GOP is now in the hands of movement conservatives and I guarantee you this precinct delegate knew exactly who his county delegate was going to vote for before I gave my
vote(s) and, based on the results, I wasn't the only one.

You've been beating this drum for a long time, CW. This has *got* to taste sweet!!

Now if we could only find someone to run against our socialist congressman who represents what was a 30+ year Red district before Walz's pro-life, pro-gun stances hid a solidly socialistic economic agenda.
